INTRODUCTION
The Arnis Club Switzerland is an independent, neutral and non-political organization composed of several Arnis Clubs founded by Master Jefferson Panes in 2009. The club started as a small group of 4 people in the canton of Zug in 2006, aiming to exercise Arnis and self-discipline. The registration of the ACZug in the Sportsman Zug (Swiss Federal Sports Office in Zug), helped pave the way for sponsorships of the Swiss government, making it one of the few officially recognized independent Filipino Martial Arts Club in the area. This transition of the ACZug expanded in Zürich, together with other Filipino Martial Arts enthusiasts, in 2009 the Arnis Club Zürich was founded and now hosting the majority of the student population. The Arnis Club Switzerland ACS is still expanding and continues to do so, with
the help of the Filipino communities, presenting Arnis on events such as the Philippine Independence day. Charity events and invitations of the Philippine Embassy Switzerland. MISSION
The main mission of the Arnis Club Switzerland is to introduce, promote and propagate Arnis the national sport of the Philippines to the local communities throughout Switzerland. Promote health and self-discipline through drill exercises and help students master their skills in Arnis as an art. ACS helps improve a Student’s good moral character through the teachings and disciplines of Filipino Martial Arts, recognizing their achievements in the exercise of Arnis, teaching them how to become teachers, and helping them become prospective Instructors to build up their own Arnis Club in the future. VISION
The ACS is aiming to become the largest independent Filipino Martial Arts organization in Switzerland. Mandating Arnis Competitions through the whole country and sending Swiss Arnis Champion players to compete in other neighboring European countries and in the Philippines. It is an organization that bridges cultural diversity enhancing relationships of a multicultural society in Switzerland. It aims to solidify friendships and brotherhood across nationalities and communities. The ACS wants to be one of the center platforms where families and friends bond together through organized curricular activities and enhance relationships through the practice of Arnis. The lack of recognition of Arnis in Switzerland lead the founding of the Arnis Club Switzerland, hence ACS will become one of the major martial arts school in Switzerland and through ACS Arnis will be preserved and practiced not only in the Philippines. ACS will continue the Arnis Legacy to the next generations to come.
