This webinar explores the challenge of endoscope-transmitted infections, with a focus on inadequate drying as a key risk factor. Evidence shows residual fluid is often detected in endoscope channels, underlining the importance of routine inspection. We will review the prevalence of inadequate drying, contributing practices such as Simethicone use, and compare drying methods—including cabinets, automated systems, and manual approaches—highlighting strategies to reduce human error and improve patient safety.
Finally, we will look at the practical demands of endoscope inspection and the emerging role of AI-assisted inspection, supported by pilot data and demonstration videos.
