International Women's Day (IWD) is a day celebrated globally on March 8th to honor the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a day to recognize the ongoing fight for gender equality and to raise awareness about the issues that women continue to face.

Mental health is an essential aspect of women's well-being, and it is an issue that is particularly relevant to International Women's Day. Women are more likely than men to experience mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. This is due to a combination of biological, social, and environmental factors, including hormonal changes, gender-based violence, discrimination, and the unequal distribution of resources and opportunities.

In many parts of the world, women's mental health is still stigmatized, and there are significant barriers to accessing mental health services. This is particularly true for marginalized groups, including women living in poverty, women with disabilities, and women who identify as LGBTQ+.

On International Women's Day, it is essential to acknowledge the mental health challenges that women face and to advocate for the provision of adequate resources and support. This includes advocating for policies that promote gender equality, including equal pay and access to education and healthcare, and ensuring that mental health services are accessible, affordable, and culturally appropriate for women from diverse backgrounds. Stress is a fact of professional life, but extreme and unrelenting pressures can lead to the debilitating state we call burnout. Burnout, in any form, can have severe consequences if left untreated. Discussing it openly - either with a spouse, family members, friends, or a therapist - is often the first step to addressing its symptoms, getting needed help, and avoiding negative outcomes.
Stress ist eine Tatsache des Berufslebens, aber extremer und unerbittlicher Druck kann zu einem schwächenden Zustand führen, den wir Ausbrennen nennen. Burnout, in welcher Form auch immer, kann schwerwiegende Folgen haben, wenn es nicht behandelt wird. Offen darüber zu sprechen – entweder mit einem Ehepartner, Familienmitgliedern, Freunden oder einem Therapeuten – ist oft der erste Schritt, um die Symptome anzugehen, benötigte Hilfe zu bekommen und negative Folgen zu vermeiden.
