Torn between two worlds

Torn between two worlds Shawn is a lifelong learner sharing his education and life experiences as a spiritual consultant. While pursuing an engineering career, Mr.

Shawn Murphy worked his way through high school and college first as a body shop mechanic and then as a machinist. Working as an aerospace engineer for General Dynamics, he started by engineering solutions for production errors on the F-16. And then helped retrofit the F16 with stealth improvements on the existing aircraft. He advanced to become a lead engineer on the Navy’s stealth A-12 program, responsible for all the perimeter structure and its stealth characteristics. Murphy received a master in engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Texas Christian University, where he became the portfolio manager of the William C Conner foundation. With his experience as an engineer and education in finance, Shawn helped start an institutional asset management company in Lichtenstein, where he became the chief investment officer and equity partner. He continued his work study regime, received the first CFA in Lichtenstein, and then learned how to speak German through the study of philosophy and history in the same language. After the sale of the Lichtenstein company, Shawn partnered with his client in Bermuda and set up an asset management company in Bermuda to focus on the captive insurance industry. While in Bermuda, Shawn started helping entrepreneurs realize their potential and vision first by helping set up a DMTV in partnership with the Bermuda Broadcasting Corporation, and then later setting up MediaMine in California in partnership with a Warner Brothers executive. After moving to Switzerland in 2020, he created Shawn T Murphy Advisory, providing advisory services to entrepreneurs, clairvoyants and those suffering spiritual illnesses. As a member of the Young President’s Organization, Mr. Murphy has chaired a number of global networks in the area of social enterprise, focusing on disadvantaged children and education. Lifelong learning has been a major theme in his life, and he's taken it one step further to be a mentor for others in all walks of life, through his books, papers and blogs.

Easter is for everyone, believer or not.

Easter Sunday is a message to every person in the world: the gates of heaven are open, regardless of religion or belief.
And it is also a call to restoration, back to virtue, goodness, and trust. To love each other, care for each other, and even love our enemies, because spiritually we are brothers and sisters learning the same lessons.
Happy Easter.

Easter, resurrection, restoration, redemption, love your enemies, spiritual unity, virtue, peace, hope

Easter reminder: Jesus brought peace, not war.

Some people quote “Jesus came with a sword” to justify fighting, but Jesus never used a sword against humanity.
This Easter, remember the message: fight the source of evil, not people. Love your fellow human beings, and pray for deliverance from evil.
Peace on earth to people of good will, not war.

Easter, peace on earth, Jesus, love your enemies, prayer, deliver us from evil, spiritual growth

Jesus did not fight humanity. So why do we?

We are repeating the same cycle from 2001: vengeance creates more extremists.
Some Christians point to “Jesus came with a sword,” but who did Jesus fight? Not people. He fought injustice and spiritual evil.
If we want peace, we have to confront extremism in our own societies and lead by example.

A prayer for peace, for every heart caught in conflict.
When the world is in conflict, fear and vengeance can take over fast. This is a simple prayer for peace: for the innocent, for families, for leaders to choose wisdom, and for hearts to soften.
If you are praying too, add one word in the comments: Peace.

You are not your labels.

The Restoration is the process of returning to our true spiritual identity. After we leave the physical body, we awaken to the spiritual realm and many are surprised because the labels and roles we carried on earth fall away.
This message is about becoming whole again and remembering who you really are.

What changed after Constantine?

Before Constantine, early Christianity was deeply spiritual. After imperial control, it became more material: images, effigies, ornate churches.
I also point to Origen, one of the most prolific early biblical scholars, and why looking at Christianity before Constantine can open a window into what was lost.
Do you think the church gained power but lost spirituality?
early Christianity, Constantine, Origen, church history, Christian spirituality, Roman Empire, theology

Healing isn’t just “fixing symptoms”—it’s finding your mission again.

A big part of spiritual healing is helping people find the right environment—support that helps them reconnect to their goals and their life’s mission.
If someone you love feels unsupported and wants to explore deeper spiritual causes behind what they’re experiencing, send them this.

What if there is no “chosen group”, only one spiritual family?

This is the second theme I wrote about after 9/11: we all share the same spiritual ancestry.
If God is good, then all of God’s children should have equal chances to come home. And the diversity we see in nature and humanity may reflect the diversity of the afterlife too.
Do you believe spirituality is for everyone, not an elite group?

What if inequality makes more sense when life is bigger than one lifetime?

I started writing in the first week after 9/11 to put positive messages into a world filled with fear and revenge. Today feels like another critical moment, so I am revisiting those themes.
This video is about the gift of reincarnation: a framework for inequality, karma, and why life can be a school for virtue, humility, patience, and responsibility.
Do you think one lifetime is enough to explain fairness in the world?

reincarnation, karma, inequality, spiritual growth, virtue, humility, Buddhism, Hinduism, early Christianity

What’s the real purpose of life? The Bible might be deeper than we were taught.
Most people never get a clear answer from church about why billions of souls are here. This dives into Origen of Alexandria’s “restoration of all things”—the idea that we grow toward the Divine by learning virtue, facing consequences, and becoming transformed (not just “one and done”).
Genesis + Revelation symbolism gets wildly interesting when you compare the imagery side by side.

ADHD + boredom might be your soul saying: “This isn’t aligned.”

“I’m bored. I want to do something else.”
Sometimes ADHD isn’t a lack of ability—it’s a lack of meaning.
A lot of students struggle in school because what they’re learning doesn’t feel connected to their life, their mission, or their goals. But when we help people learn toward what matters to them, focus often shows up naturally.

Karma changes behavior. That’s the point.

A reason Buddhism often trends toward peace: karma + reincarnation reinforce accountability.
You don’t delete consequences—you learn from them.
Beliefs shape behavior. Behavior shapes culture.
What do you think matters more: doctrine… or power?

Buddhism, karma, reincarnation, accountability, peace, ethics, spirituality
