HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.

We think you should know this 🤔

On this International Women’s Day 2026, we pause with gratitude to God and raise our voices as young advocates for the health, dignity, and empowerment of women.

During the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, our team stepped into communities and schools, engaging young girls and boys in open conversations about cervical cancer, HPV vaccination, and the importance of early screening. We shared, listened, and encouraged our fellow young people to take their health seriously small steps that can lead to meaningful change.

As a youth-led initiative and member of the African Cervical Health Alliance Network (ACHA), we remain committed to supporting efforts toward eliminating cervical cancer in Africa, beginning from our home, Cameroon, in alignment with the global 90–70–90 targets of WHO and Cameroon National Strategic plan for Cancer Prevention and Control.

Protecting women’s health requires collaboration from policymakers, healthcare professionals, civil society, and grassroots communities.

Together, we move closer to a cervical cancer–free Africa 🌸

Happy International Women’s Day.

🌸Welcome March🌸

Hello PBOHIANS,

Welcome to a new month a fresh start and another chance to take better care of ourselves and the people we love.

May March bring you joy, peace, fulfillment, and good health.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

What is one simple thing I will do for my health this month? 🤔😊

Every little step counts.

Chaoo.

International Childhood Cancer Day

Today, we stand in solidarity with children and families facing cancer around the world. Every child deserves timely diagnosis, quality treatment, compassionate care, and the chance to dream beyond illness.

At PBOHI, we believe in demonstrating impact, turning challenges into change through awareness, advocacy, and support.

Let us continue to raise our voices, reduce stigma, and push for stronger systems that protect and prioritize children’s health.

Together, we move from challenge to change.

Learning happens best when we meet young people where they are.

On Friday, January 23rd, 2026, we held our third sensitization activity in commemoration of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. This time, our journey led us to Step by Step High School, Ntarinkon–Mankon.

It was a truly beautiful and inspiring moment. The students were attentive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, reminding us why this work matters so deeply. Their openness and cooperation made the experience even more meaningful

We are deeply grateful to God for the grace that made this possible 🙏

*_Health education belongs in our schools._*

On January 22nd, 2026, the PBOHI team spent time at Blessed Comprehensive College, Nchoubuh, engaging students in honest conversations around cervical cancer, HPV, and prevention. We talked about simple but powerful actions like vaccination, screening, and making healthy choices early.

What stood out most was the attention and openness from the students. They listened, asked questions, and showed real interest in understanding how health decisions today can shape their future. Moments like this remind us that school outreach is indeed essential.

We also reminded the students that young people are not spectators in cancer prevention. They are part of the solution. Their knowledge, their voices, and their actions matter.

Through these visits, PBOHI continues to align community education with national and global efforts toward cervical cancer elimination, bringing these conversations closer to the people they are meant to serve.

Everyone has a role to play.

In God we trust 🙏

Should young people know about this?

Yes ofcourse!!!!

Everyone has a role to play.

On January 20th, 2026, our team kicked off at County Comprehensive College Ngomgham as part of the January Cervical Cancer Awareness activities. The team engaged students in meaningful conversations on HPV infection and cervical cancer, focusing on awareness and preventive strategies like vaccination, screening, and healthy choices.

The team also stressed the importance of the role of young people in cervical cancer elimination. The openness, curiosity, and participation from the students made the session impactful and rewarding.

As a global and national commitment, the PBOHI initiative dwelled within the framework of the WHO 90-70-90 Cervical Cancer Elimination Framework and the Cameroon National Strategic Plan for Cancer Prevention and Control.

By the grace of God, we continue to raise informed young people and build communities that value knowledge, prevention, and healthy choices. Everyone has a role to play.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in our communities. Many cases are diagnosed late, not because women do not care, but because awareness and early detection are still limited.

The main cause of cervical cancer is persistent infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a very common sexually transmitted infection. While most HPV infections clear on their own, those that persist over time can lead to cervical cancer. Adolescents and young people are especially vulnerable due to early exposure, misinformation, and limited access to accurate health education.

The good news is this, cervical cancer is preventable. Early awareness saves lives.

Let us start prevention early:
✔ Encourage HPV vaccination
✔ Share accurate, age-appropriate information
✔ Promote healthy choices and future screening
✔ Involve both girls and boys in prevention conversations

Prevention begins with awareness.
Awareness begins now.
