New year address by the Director, Mme Laison Sylvie.
Happy new year everyone, 2025 has come and gone , of course without leaving its impact on us. It was a very though year , with challenges in many facets . I will love to take time to appreciate our partners , collaborators, Staff, our target communities for the 2025 experience. With all the numerous challenges, we all gave our best , and from it , we hold so dear , the lessons learned. I love to acknowledge the efforts of all the well wishers , partners and collaborators for their continuous support . We see your efforts, we are grateful.
As we move into the new year 2026, the entire team is more determined to uphold our core values, to serve with intention , following our mandate and commit to the sustainable development goals . This year we launch our 3 years strategic plan ( 2026- 2028) . We are putting in all efforts to restructure our programs and Interventions for better and traceable impact . 2026 is a great year for us as it marks 10 years of operational presence (2016- 2026) yes!!. We have come a long way , with many challenges, limitations and also results. You will be amazed when we share with you our roadmap thus far . Our work is valuable, and we cannot stop . As our name says , we keep the Hopes alive as we embrace this new year , with commitment and dedication to community development and social service delivery. God bless you all and give you the fortitude to go through the year .

Today, marked the end of the 2 days Capacity strengthening Training for Women Led Organizations in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, by UNFPA Cameroon, , . Today featured themes like project design and implementation, Human Resource Management, Financial Management and other operations . This training was so timy for HAACAM , as we are at a stage of restructuring for better implementation and better results.

Our Director, Mme Laison Sylvie, joined other Women Led organizations in the North West Region in a 2 days capacity strengthening workshop by UNFPA Cameroon , that seeks to build the capacities of these organizations in Good Governance, Transparency and Accountability in reporting, Networking and Community Engagement. Today was a success,
as we look forward to day 2 tomorrow.

It’s another time of the year to look back with our heads lifted high to celebrate how far we have come . We celebrate our resilience through it all, physical and hormonal changes in our bodies we cannot understand, no chance to speak because no one cares about our opinions , sexual violence , early marriages, no self worth , little opportunities to prove who we really are and what we can offer and have have you . Another time to celebrate our resilience through all the vices and count our achievements. Girls leading change . See how much we have changed from being the weaker vessels to championing change especially in crisis . We have broken the chains that even as teenage mothers , we are entrepreneurs, even with no opportunity, we dare to create seats for ourselves on the tables of decision making and we thrive . Today we celebrate our resilience, our strength and commitment to a better society. We indeed are the chair leaders of today , champions of tomorrow. Cheers as we celebrate, I want you to remember! That you are beautiful, you are enough and you got all that which it takes to be that woman of your dreams . Don’t give up , keep showing up .💞💞💞💞💞.

Today , HAACAM joins the World to celebrate world Mental Health day , and we are reflecting on the theme , “ Access to services “ . It is very critical for us working in emergencies. On this day we urge our fellow colleagues that in the mist of all the challenges, beginning from ; no structure to govern practice , broken systems of support, conflicts of interests and all, we should remember to optimize the quality of our services to meet the needs of our clients who need our support. We commend the work of all mental health professionals who are putting their best to meet the growing needs of society, especially those working in conflict settings . Your work is valid , and May God bless you . Remember your own mental health matters too . You cannot give what you do not have . Take out time once in a while to work on yourselves too , relax when you need to , and be healthy for the people you serve . Have a great celebration as we take out time to reflect .Kudos our
