Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) a récemment organisé des ateliers de renforcement des capacités sur les questions de protection dans les six régions du projet Éducation et Autonomisation Économique (EEE-P). Grâce à la participation de mentors, d' agents de terrain et de mobilisateurs communautaires, ces sessions ont renforcé notre responsabilité collective à :

✅ Prévenir l' exploitation, les abus et le harcèlement sexuels
✅ Respecter les limites professionnelles et le code de conduite de GHSS
✅ Protéger les bénéficiaires vulnérables, en particulier les enfants et les jeunes
✅ Promouvoir la responsabilisation, la confiance et un mécanisme de signalement centré sur les victimes

La protection n' est pas qu' une politique ; c' est une culture. En adhérant aux normes éthiques, en nous respectant mutuellement malgré les rapports de force et en créant des espaces sûrs, nous renforçons la confiance entre les communautés, les partenaires et les donateurs.

Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) recently organized capacity-building workshops on safeguarding issues across all six regions of the Education and Economic Empowerment Project (EEE-P).

With mentors, field staff, and community mobilisers in attendance, the sessions reinforced our collective responsibility to:
✅ Prevent sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment
✅ Respect professional boundaries and the GHSS code of conduct
✅ Protect vulnerable beneficiaries, especially children and youth
✅ Promote accountability, trust, and survivor-centred reporting

Safeguarding is not just policy; it's culture. By upholding ethical standards, respecting one another despite power differences, and creating safe spaces, we strengthen trust among communities, partners, and donors.

From 𝟗–𝟏𝟕 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 (𝐂𝐍𝐓𝐒) in Kinshasa, in partnership with Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), held a basic biosafety training for support staff, biologists, and lab technicians.

The training focused on𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭—all essential to ensuring quality and safety across the transfusion chain.

This initiative is part of C**S’s commitment to 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 for patients across the DRC.

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧

From January 26 to February 13, 2026, the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) and Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) administered reassessment exams to 27 health facilities across Cameroon’s South West, West, East, Adamawa, North, and Far North regions.

As required by the national certification guide, this followed a 3-month monitoring period for sites and HIV rapid testers who were unsuccessful in the initial assessment. The exams assessed tester competence through written and practical evaluations, measuring adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards in HIV testing services.

Certification is a mark of compliance with quality practices in conducting HIV rapid testing.

The 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 (𝐍𝐋𝐒𝐏) 2026–2030 has been successfully finalized and validated — a significant achievement in advancing 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 across Cameroon.

Held from 𝟒–𝟕 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚, this milestone workshop was organized by the Department of Pharmacy and Laboratory Medicine (DPML) under the Ministry of Health, with financial support from Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) through US CDC funding, and additional support from STRIDES.

The event brought together stakeholders from various ministries, laboratories, the 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 (𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐀𝐑), and US CDC implementing partners to validate the strategic plan developed over the past year.

This validated plan lays the foundation for a 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 that supports better public health outcomes in Cameroon.

From 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐆𝐇𝐒𝐒) brought together its senior leadership in Kigali, Rwanda for a transformative retreat.

Guided by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐍𝐣𝐮𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐠, Executive Director, the team reflected on lessons learned and charted a bold new vision — to reimagine GHSS as a 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳 driving impact across Africa.

Throughout the retreat, participants explored how to:
- Strengthen health systems and build a resilient workforce
- Harness digital innovation to expand access
- Advance inclusion, empowerment, and mental health
- Improve access to finance and promote financial inclusion
- Drive food security and climate-smart, sustainable solutions

Facilitated by GHSS’s own team members, the sessions reflected a deep commitment to innovation, collaboration, and community-led change.
