***WHAT ANIMALS CAN GET COVID-19***

We don’t know for sure which animals can be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. Recent research shows that ferrets, cats, and golden Syrian hamsters can be experimentally infected with the virus and can spread the infection to other animals of the same species in laboratory settings. Pigs, chickens, and ducks did not become infected or spread the infection based on results from these studies.

***SHOULD CHILDREN WEAR MASKS?***

We recommends that everyone 2 years and older wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth in public settings when around people not living in your household, particularly where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Masks should NOT be put on babies or children younger than 2 because of the danger of suffocation.
