Safety First: Precautions for Using an Ice Bath
1. Start gradually.
If you're a beginner, avoid using extremely low temperatures or prolonged soaks right away. It's recommended to start with a milder temperature (such as 15°C) and soak for 2-3 minutes at a time. As your body adapts, gradually lower the temperature and increase the soaking time (generally no more than 10-15 minutes is recommended).
2.Manage duration
An ice bath isn't about "longer is better." A single soak is recommended to be within 5-10 minutes. Prolonged exposure can lead to hypothermia or frostbite.
3. Listen to your body
If you experience severe shaking, dizziness, nausea, or extreme difficulty breathing during your soak, stop immediately and exit the tub slowly. Safety always comes first.
4.Contraindications:
Avoid using an ice tub without consulting a doctor if you have any of the following health conditions:
Cardiovascular disease (e.g., high blood pressure, heart disease)
Raynaud's disease
Pregnant women
Those with skin diseases or unhealed wounds
