Lab Pure Water Equipment VS Household Water Purifiers

Do you know the difference between laboratory pure water equipment and household water purifiers?

1. Ex*****on standards
The laboratory pure water equipment follows the "Specification and Test Methods for Analytical Laboratory Water (GB/T 6682-2008)", and its main parameters for determining water quality include TOC, heat source, conductivity, etc. And household water purifiers follow the "Hygienic Standards for Drinking Water (GB5749-2022)", with main parameters including chromaticity, turbidity, residual chlorine, TDS value, etc.

2. Working principle
The laboratory pure water equipment utilizes reverse osmosis technology and ion exchange technology, and through the joint action of various filter elements, control elements, booster pumps, UV lamps, etc., produces pure water, high-purity water, and ultrapure water that meets the experimental requirements. Household water purifiers filter harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses, and heavy metal ions through multi-stage filters to produce drinking water that meets the standards for drinking water.

3. Process flow
The purification system of the laboratory ultrapure water machine mainly consists of a pre-treatment system, reverse osmosis system, and ultra purification system, which belongs to ion level filtration. The structure of household water purifiers is relatively simple, mainly composed of food grade polymer materials as the body, built-in PP cotton filter column components, low permeability activated carbon filters and other components.

4. Application areas
Laboratory water purifiers have long become standard equipment in laboratories such as biology, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and chemical engineering. The pure and ultrapure water they produce is widely used in cell culture, mass spectrometry analysis, vessel cleaning, and ultra trace analysis. Household water purifiers are common in daily life, which can remove harmful substances and retain trace elements and minerals. The purified water is weakly alkaline, sweet and delicious, and can be consumed directly.

5. Technology and Structure
The laboratory pure water machine has a booster pump that requires power, a water storage tank, and generally uses a five stage filtration. However, household water purifiers do not have motors and do not require power. They rely on water pressure to drive filtration and use stainless steel pipes as the body. The stainless steel material is resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, and can better adapt to changes in environmental temperature differences.
