Tanning is not the same as sunbathing
Many people think that tanning is easy, just "basking in the sun" is enough. In fact, it is not the case. Improper "basking in the sun" will not only prevent tanning, but also endanger health. Unprotected sun exposure will direct ultraviolet rays to the basal layer of the skin, causing sunburn, blisters, and scarring if not handled properly. What's more, inappropriate sunbathing can cause skin cancer. A large group of skin cancers is called basal cell carcinoma of the skin, and the year-over-year increase in the number of white people suffering from this cancer has a lot to do with the wrong sun exposure.
With the gradual popularity of skin tanning , basal cell carcinoma of the skin is also on the rise. In addition, many people sunbathe without paying attention to protecting their eyes, and after the fundus is irradiated by ultraviolet rays, the phacoemulsification may cause fundus lesions or even cataracts.
So, how can you sunbathe and tan in a healthy way? The first thing to avoid is the time with the strongest UV rays: 10 am to 3 pm. Second, apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going out and every 2 hours while you're sunbathing. Sunscreen should choose a sunscreen with a low UVA coefficient and a high UVB coefficient, which can not only protect the skin from sunburn, but also achieve the purpose of tanning.
