Who’s juicing Wheatgrass!? I fell in love with wheatgrass 30 years ago when I read, “The Wheatgrass Book” by Ann Wigmore. Wheatgrass is easy to grow and a powerhouse of nutrients. I love it mixed with green apple for a delicious life giving treat!

How to grow wheatgrass: Buy organic seeds (hard red winter wheat berries) from Hippocrates Health Institute Step 1.) Soak 1 cup of the wheatgrass seeds in a ball jar, cover with water and soak for 8 hours Step 2.) Drain (mesh used under your ball jar lid works or get sprouting lids) rinse well and put lid side down at a 45 degree angle in a dish rack Step 3.) Rinse 3x 12 hours apart until tiny sprouts appear on the seeds. Step 4.) Fill a black growing tray (with holes) with 1/2” organic potting soil, removing any clumps then compress soil with a second growing tray then mist soil heavily with a spray bottle. Step 5.) Spread your sprouted wheatgrass seeds evenly to the four corners of your growing tray covering all the soil then mist heavily with water. Step 6.) Cover with a second growing tray with no holes for two days. Water 2x a day for 7 days. Cover tray no longer needed after day two! Using the sprout jar lid for watering through makes a great sprinkler! Step 7.) Harvest your beautiful wheatgrass to juice using a knife or scissors! Run enough through the juicer to fill a shot glass, enjoy mixed with green apple or add it to your smoothies! Enjoy your beautiful green bounty!

🥗 F U E L 🥗 I’m not the best “plater” when it comes to food presentation, but this sure was yummy (dinner last night). I used to create salads incorrectly. I would pile a big base of leaves (lettuce, spinach, arugula, mixed baby greens), sprinkle some veggies on there, and then garnish with a few sprouts. While I was at the 3 week health retreat at in West Palm Beach, Florida, back in Nov-Dec., owners Dr. Brian and Dr. Anna Maria taught me that’s opposite of what we’re supposed to do!

🥗 Were supposed to have a massive pile of sprouts (sunflower, pea, alfalfa, radish, as examples) as the base, a small bunch (1/2 cup) of leaves (lettuce/spinach/arugula), a hearty dose of sprouted beans, and then whatever veggies we want to add on top.

🥗 I thought this was CRAZY and wondered how I’d ever feel (or become) FULL. How was I supposed to gain weight like this?

🥗 These salads are VERY FILLING, packed with protein, and are nutrient dense. Because of this, I gained 3 pounds in 3 weeks (most people lose 10-30lbs). Dr. Brian told me that the body does what it’s meant to do.

La es el alimento mas calórico que existe.

Esto no quiere decir que siempre te engorde, es decir, siempre hemos entendido que por que un alimento transfiere muchas calorías, hace que engordes, y no es así. En este punto entran muchos otros factores como el hambre y la saciedad. Es algo así como la sensación que genera comer 2 naranjas con toda su fibra, que no es igual a tomar solo el zumo, y aunque el aceite no tiene fibra, si desencadena una cascada de eventos y mecanismos a nivel hormonal que te generan saciedad.
No significa esto que termines atiborrado de aceite o alimentos grasos.
