La cicatrización de la piel es un proceso complejo e independiente en cada persona que esta condicionado por diferentes factores como la edad, el tipo de piel, la parte del cuerpo y también la genética. La piel tarda un año en recuperarse completamente, por lo que se debe tener en cuenta que mientras pasa ese tiempo la cicatriz puede mejorar y hasta volverse imperceptible.
Hay que considerar que los cirujanos plásticos son expertos en realizar las incisiones de las cirugías en lugares donde las cicatrices no se notarán demasiado, y es muy importante seguir todas las recomendaciones dadas por estos para favorecer su desaparición. El masaje sobre una cicatriz, con productos específicos, puede ayudar a mejorar el resultado final, pero se debe preguntar al Doctor si se puede hacer en cada caso especifico, y en qué momento.
