Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?
It's kinda weird, huh?
A micro biz in this big corporate world just trying to make things a bit less smelly and gross. I share on this big giant platform, but not all that often. I estimate 4-7 people see my product posts. Still chuggin' away though.
This big world is screaming for more love. I know so many of us are passing it around whenever we have a bit to spare. Thanks for doing that. Seriously, it’s making a difference, even if you can’t see it right now.
I scored huge 27+ years ago when I found the biggest love in my smaller world. My solid family and privilege allow me to spread love into the less intimate parts of this world that need nourishment. I have the best husband (fact). Always a solid, loyal, loving presence. I found him young and we grew up together. We’re pretty good at loving one another. Our love shaped my world.
My kids, a gigantic love, one that came from the literal inside of me. I found an old blog post from 2011. It’s been a minute. They had a childhood website where I shared photos, videos, and updates for framily afar. I wrote about the love in our world then and tracked it down today. It still holds true. Not much has changed through the years. Deeper love, more wrinkles.
And it is my bestie's birthday today. Another reason to love. Or, as Ross Gay would say, "Delight."
I pour love into the weird things I make. Stuff you put in your pits. Videos about plants that grow around us that might go unnoticed. Tea blends. Smells that ground, uplift, and help us stay sane and healthy. Balms that make our skin feel better. Little treasures that remind us we are loved.
Another love thought - on prioritizing time. Time to Be. We all feel that familiar tug - get s**t done, rush, run errands, make ends meet, don't waste time. IMO, time spent with someone is not time wasted. Maybe that is your gift? Your gift to even one person - hold their hand, hold their baby, hold their memory. Who knows - there might not be another time sharer for them. Be.
Give a little extra love this weekend, if you can. Valentine's Day is weird, but love sneaks out of it.
