Laura Waite: Facilitator of the Light

Mandala (mon-dah-lah) means “circle” or “completion,” and represents wholeness. It is a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relationship to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds. Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing the never-ending life cycle. They aid in meditation and serve as a symbolic map of the universe and pathway to liberation. These designs can be created by individuals to represent their journeys through life, telling the story of where they have been. I share my journey with you through the facilitation of massage, yoga and my connection to a pure light energy source. I have dedicated my life to the study and practice of unlocking and connecting the body, mind and spirit. Discovering the ancient practice of yoga, exploring the healing arts, and trusting the power and beauty of intuition exposed my life path and unveiled my creativity. I offer my services with the intention of passing on the wisdom of these healing traditions, empowering you to use these tools as guides along your journey. The light within me respects and honors the light within you.

This sweet little beach town has been home for many years, and it’s where I hold space each week through daily Yoga classes and Bodywork sessions.

For Yoga, you will find me at the Intercultura Language School, in the open air rancho facing the ocean. Please pre-register.

Bodywork sessions go far beyond a regular massage, weaving together intuitive touch, energy, and intention. It’s hard to put into words what happens in these sessions… but I’m often reminded, by those who come, of the power in being witnessed, in feeling safe, in slowing down enough to truly feel. And for those looking to recalibrate without touch, Energy sessions are also available.

Bookings are required for those, and always best to save a spot for Yoga as well, especially during the high season (plus that’s how you’ll get directions if it’s your first time).

My heart is full as we send this incredible group of yogis out into the world. It’s been a transformative journey full of growth, laughter, tears, learning, expansion and now letting go. The students blew us away with their final exams, the amount they were able to integrate in our accelerated time together was truly astonishing. Life will feel different tomorrow as we go our separate ways, but we will be connected in our hearts always.

Much love and gratitude to my soul sister for sharing her wisdom and direction and for inviting me in to launch her new school .yoga.institute! A dream that she had been working towards and building over the last few years that has now come into fruition. A school built on pillars of empowerment, truth, self-study, expansion, love and personal development. I can’t wait to see where it grows, congratulations to us all!

Today was a breakthrough. For around 6 months I have been working out with .garita and it’s been a slow, arduous journey for this little caterpillar. 🐛 I remained dedicated, trusted the journey and celebrated the strength being built from the inside out.

So….pull ups…😅. When I started, I could lift myself up but my decent to the ground was very much lead by gravity. So for months I have been using a TRX band instead of doing pull ups. Today, I was challenged to step back up to the bar, and yes I did resist! To my surprise not only could I do the pull up and hold it, but I could descend down slowly AND finish the reps. My heart bursted open and tears started rising. In yoga we encourage emotional release, when it rises let it flow. BUT, even though it would have been welcomed- I refused to cry in front of everyone. So I kept going with watery eyes and felt like Rocky running up the stairs in the rain- cue music.

But that’s not why I am telling this story. I share this because the last 6 months I have done incredibly deep inner work as well. It wasn’t easy, some call it the dark night of the soul…and just when I started to think what was all of this digging for, what was the point, the reward??? It was when I wanted to throw in the towel that I had my breakthrough. Gracias a Dios!

Today showed me that my fiery discipline, my “tapas”, my determination and consistency, built all of those sturdy roots beneath the surface and today I popped through the soil. So I feel a bit like a baby phoenix 🐦‍🔥 coming out of my shell and poking my head through the ashes. Not quite rising or flying yet, but getting to know this new form. 🦋

If the last 6 months have been full of trials, tests, grieving, loss, digging deep without a clear understanding of the path ahead- I get you! And your breakthrough can and will happen in the most unexpected moment. Have faith, you got this, it’s all worth it! ✨

Hi, I’m Laura 🤍

I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga for over 20 years, mostly here in Sámara, Costa Rica, a very special little town on the Pacific coast, where life has a way of pulling you into presence.
I’m also a mother to two beautiful kids, Lilah and Ethan. They’ve been my greatest teachers, constantly showing me where I still have room to grow, and reminding me of what truly matters.

Since I was young, I’ve felt a deep connection to the unseen, intuition, energy, spirit. Over the years, that connection has deepened and become one of the guiding forces in my work and life.
More recently, plant medicine opened a doorway to deeper truth, one that continues to guide how I show up, listen, and hold space. It reminded me of who I am beneath all the roles and stories, and introduced me to Lily, a powerful inner guide who walks with me now.

Everything I do is rooted in presence, authentic truth, and loving care. Whether we’ve known each other for years, or you’ve just landed here, thank you for being part of this journey.
