Will anybody be able to tell that you’ve had dental implants placed?

Dental implants are a great way to replace your missing teeth or those in poor condition that have or will need to be extracted.
In dental implants, “screws” are used as roots to replace your teeth. This means they are beneath your gum lines, within your bone. They will not be visible. What will be visible will be the supportive denture, bridges, and crowns— your new and beautiful teeth.

Certainly, everyone will notice your new and beautiful smile. However, no one will know if you have dental implants unless you would like to tell them or show them in an X-ray.

STAR Dental Implant Center is a top clinic in Costa Rica, specializing in the placement of dental implants and mouth restoration. We will be proud to be able to help you not only regain your bite functions but recover your smile. Call us today at 1-866-828-2871 to speak to our patient coordinator about how we can help you complete your dental work.

When choosing someone to build your home, it is typical to research multiple builders and inquire about their previous work before hiring. The same should happen when you are choosing a doctor to place your dental implants. We encourage you to choose a specialist, one with not only one with specialized education in the field but with plenty of experience.

Once you have chosen a specialist, then you can begin your dental work at ease knowing that you have made the best choice for you and your body!

Before we begin, just as we would a construction site, we will need to evaluate your bone structure, its density, and various other variables prior to working on the area. We would evaluate you with a CBCT, panoramic x-ray, and a clinical evaluation.

When you begin building your home, you must first prepare the construction site and its foundation. This first step is of the utmost importance; this will create the basis for your final results. For your dental implants, the first step would be preparing the area: removing any unsalvageable natural teeth, cleaning the mouth, and removing bacterial infection if present. If necessary, the specialist will place a bone graft to ensure that the implants can be placed properly.

Afterward, we will continue with the laying of the foundation. This foundation will help hold the structure of your house! In dental treatments such as implants and the all-on-4, the foundation would be the placing of your dental implants. The foundation of a house is always placed underneath the ground. This is the same with dental implants. Dental implants are placed within the bone, underneath your gum line.

Dental implants, after being placed, go through a process with your bone, just as cement would with your foundations. This process is called Osseointegration; it is when your bone and your dental implants fuse together, usually over a time period of roughly six months. However, don’t worry— you will never be toothless, our doctors create temporary teeth for you until it is time for your final crowns to go on.

After these steps have been completed, we are able to place your final teeth on top. Your new beautiful smile will be permanent! This last step is the one that everyone will see, be astonished by, and compliment. Once you have completed the necessary All-on-4 procedures with us, you will be learning how to smile again and showing your friends and family your amazing new look in no time.

Please contact us today at 1-866-828-2871 for more information or details on completing your dental treatment with STAR Dental Implant Center.

Dental tourism can take you all over the world. You may be wondering: why Costa Rica over any other country? What makes Costa Rica so unique? Here are some facts about Costa Rica that explain just why this beautiful country should be your destination for both vacation and for completing your dental work.

First things first: the legendary biodiversity. Despite covering only 0.03% of the Earth’s landmass, Costa Rica is within the top 20 countries on the planet for its species density. Costa Rica alone represents more than 4% of the world’s biodiversity, with an average of 234.8 plant species in 1000 square kilometers… compare that to Brazil, which averages 6.5 plant species in the same area despite being far larger than Costa Rica in terms of landmass, and the flora and fauna evident in Costa Rica is truly astounding!

For those people entranced by such phenomenons as Easter Island, you will be surprised and delighted to know that Costa Rica has an indigenous mystery of its own. Before Costa Rica was colonized by the Spanish, the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica carved more than 235 documented stone spheres, all elaborately carved and all mathematically perfect. Thought to be a form of public art, extremely important to pre-Columbian society, the spheres are a must-see for those interested in architecture, art, or history.

Any daredevils or beachgoers out there are surely aware that Costa Rica is one of the best places in the world to surf. Beaches in Costa Rica have year-round waves, warm water, and superior weather to almost anywhere else in the world. In fact, you can surf in two separate oceans in Costa Rica, all within the span of a day: it is only a six-hour drive between the Pacific and the Atlantic when you are visiting Costa Rican beaches.

Not to mention the fishing, ziplining, birdwatching, whale-watching, volcanoes, rainforests, whitewater rafting, traditional cuisine, and artistry available for exploration!

In addition to experiencing one of the most beautiful locations and cultures in the world, you can also achieve your dream smile by visiting us at STAR Dental Implant Center in Costa Rica. 3.1 million tourists visited Costa Rica in 2019. Where did they come from?

According to the Costa Rican government, there were 3,139,008 international visitors to Costa Rica in 2019, and more than half of these (1,666,571) were from North America. More than 1.3 million of these North Americans were from the United States, but as for Europe, Germany narrowly beat out the United Kingdom for visitors to Costa Rica-- 80,580 versus 78,562.

These arrivals from the United States marked a 5.5% increase over 2018, and Canada’s 234,621 visitors in 2019 was an even more significant increase over 2018 at an 8.1% jump.

Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant decrease in tourism across the world. Nonetheless, Costa Rica remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latin America, famous for its biodiversity and natural beauty.

At STAR Dental Implant Center, we specialize in working with patients from North America-- even our doctors are U.S-trained. We offer a full concierge service and will do our best to meet your every need when you visit Costa Rica for your dental procedure-- we make dental tourism easy!
