Lab – The term ‘lab’ in the name of the platform should be taken as a topological location for the research of biopolitical theories and a workspace for analysis and articulation of artistic practice, culture and society through biopolitical theoretical concepts. Actualization – The term actualization refers to the importance of starting philosophical and theoretical research related to biopolitical events and stimulation of biopolitical theoretical practice in that field. The actualization of biopolitical theories and the use of their concepts in the interpretation of contemporary society, culture and art, is a necessary basis in a post-capitalist world identified as the era of biopolitics. Biopolitical theory – In the broadest sense, the subject of biopolitical theory is life in the context of the capacity of political power aimed at it. BioArt – The term „BioArt“ – which is a technical rather than paradigmatic one due to the diversity of relations between art and biopolitics – implies artistic practice that, through its status, themes or concept, and through naming, problematization or rationalization, accentuates the relation between politics, power and life.
