BELhospice

BELhospice je prva dobrotvorna organizacija u Srbiji koja je posvećena specijalizovanom palijativnom zbrinjavanju terminalno obolelih onkoloških pacijenata. Sve usluge BELhospisa su potpuno besplatne za pacijente i njihove porodice, a celokupan rad se finansira iz donacija i dobrotvornih akcija koje se organizuju tokom godine. Terminalno oboleli pacijenti, u času kada je iscrpljeno njihovo specifično onkološko lečenje, po otpuštanju iz bolnica često su prepušteni sami sebi i svojim porodicama. Ovi pacijenti su jedna od najranjivijih socijalnih grupa u našem društvu, a njihova patnja se produžava zbog nedostatka specifičnog znanja i odgovarajućih ustanova. Osnivanjem BELhospice centra 2004. godine stanje u Srbiji se polako menja jer sada pacijenti imaju mogućnost da kroz naše kućno zbrinjavanje ostvare bolji kvalitet života, koliko je to u datim okolnostima moguće. BELhospice to postiže kroz aktivnu i sveobuhvatnu brigu o pacijentima koja podrazumeva medicinsku kontrolu bola i drugih simptoma bolesti kao i psihološku, socijalnu i duhovnu podršku pacijentima i njihovim porodicama. U zbrinjavanju učestvuju timovi sastavljeni od profesionalaca različitih profila (lekari, medicinske sestre, socijalni radnici, psiholozi) i volonteri. U svakom trenutku BELhospice zbrinjava oko 40 pacijenata terminalno obolelih od raka. Pored zbrinjavanja terminalno obolelih pacijenata, BELhospice učestvuje u edukaciji profesionalaca koji su uključeni u brigu o pacijentima i promoviše koncept palijativnog zbrinjavanja široj zajednici. BELhospice is the first charity organisation in Serbia dedicated to the specialized palliative care of terminally ill cancer patients. All services of BELhospice are completely free of charge for patients and their families, and entire work of the centre is financed with donations and fundraising activities organised throughout the year. When specific oncology treatment of cancer patients is finished, and they leave the hospital they are often left to themselves and their families. They are one of the most vulnerable social groups in our society, and their suffering is increased due to the lack of appropriate facilities for the care as well as the specific knowledge in the field of palliative care. When BELhospice was founded in 2004 the situation in Serbia slowly started to change because now,through our home care services, patients have the opportunity to achieve better quality of life, given the circumstances. BELhospice provides active and holistic concept of care for patients, which consists of medical control of pain and other symptoms of illness as well as psychological, social and spiritual support to patients and their families. All these services are being provided by teams of professionals (medical doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists) and volunteers. In every moment BELhospice is providing care for around 40 terminally ill cancer patients. Besides providing palliative care to terminally ill cancer patients, BELhospice assists in the process of education of relevant professionals and general public, and promotes the palliative care concept in the wider community.
