A stroke changed everything for our patient from Rome, Italy. After an ischemic stroke, he was 100% paralysed, couldn’t move his hands and couldn’t speak.

Traditional rehabilitation in Italy helped, but only to a certain level. That’s when he decided to try stem cell therapy for stroke recovery at Swiss Medica.

Over 7–8 treatment programs in our clinic, the patient noticed:
🦵 Better motor function – more control and stability when moving
💬 Improved speech and language
🧠 Clearer cognitive function
👍 More confidence in everyday life

He now comes to Belgrade once or twice a year to support and maintain his results. In the video, he talks about:
💬 How he went from full paralysis to walking and communicating again
💬 What his daily routine looks like now
💬 His experience in our new clinic: treatment, physiotherapy, restaurant and medical staff

Six years ago, a stroke changed our patient’s life.

Originally from Greece and now living in Germany, he suddenly had to adapt to weakness, limited walking distance and the need for constant rehabilitation. Physiotherapy, speech therapy and cognitive training helped, but after some time the progress slowed down.

While searching for new options, he learned about stem cell therapy for stroke recovery. After researching different clinics and talking to medical advisors in Berlin, he chose Swiss Medica in Belgrade — close to Greece, with a specialised team in regenerative medicine and a structured rehab program.

At Swiss Medica clinic, his treatment included mesenchymal stem cell therapy, intensive physiotherapy and acupuncture. The procedure itself was much easier than he expected, and he felt fully supported: airport pickup, no language barrier, and a medical team he describes as “very competent and knowing exactly what they do.”

Although the main results are expected over the next 3–4 months, he already notices more feeling in his paralysed foot and hand and feels more optimistic about walking safely, increasing his endurance and keeping his independence in daily life.

🧪 Considering stem cell therapy for yourself or a family member?

When classic treatment stops bringing progress, regenerative medicine — including stem cell therapy — becomes a reasonable next step to explore. This is especially true for conditions like autism, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, neuropathy and other chronic diseases.

It’s natural to have very specific questions, such as:
❓ What kind of improvements are realistic for my diagnosis and stage?
❓ How is the program structured: days at the clinic, key steps, follow-up at home?
❓ How are safety, donor screening and quality control organised?

Since 2011, Swiss Medica doctors have worked with over 10,000 patients from different countries, using mesenchymal stem cell therapy as part of a personalised treatment plan.

During a free online medical consultation, our consulting doctors:
✅ Review your medical history and current health condition
✅ Explain how stem cell therapy could support your existing treatment and rehabilitation
✅ Outline a possible program for you (diagnostics, infusions, supportive therapies, follow-up)
✅ Describe in detail how safety is monitored: lab tests, dosing, medical supervision

Every case is unique. If stem cell therapy is not a suitable option in your situation, we explain this openly and discuss the reasons.

Can stem cell therapy help ABA work better for children with autism? 🌱🧠

In this webinar, our doctors explain how mesenchymal stem cells support the brain — improving blood flow, helping neuron connections and calming harmful inflammation. Parents will see how this links to real changes: communication, social interaction, sleep, digestion, focus and emotional control.

We also talk honestly about safety, short-term reactions and how we keep children comfortable during the clinic day, plus how MSC treatment fits step by step with ABA at home.

🧩 Alyssa flew from Salt Lake City, USA to Belgrade with her 4.5-year-old son Oscar, diagnosed with level 3 (severe) autism.

😴 Before stem cell therapy, he slept only 3–4 hours at night, stayed awake for hours, ran away, couldn’t stay in a room with people, and was rejected by several ABA clinics. One psychiatrist even told her he would “never understand the word no” and was “almost in a vegetative state.”

After trying everything and hitting a plateau, Alyssa decided that the worst thing she could do was nothing. She started researching stem cell therapy for autism and, after two previous rounds in other places, chose Swiss Medica for a more in-depth program.

Here she talks about changes in sleep, behaviour, food aversions and communication, and about feeling safe and calm for the first time thanks to 24/7 medical support and an all-in-one clinic setting in Belgrade 🏥

💬 “When he was younger, he hardly spoke and it was very hard to guide him. Today, he listens, answers, and starts to live his own life”

Patient’s family travelled from Italy to Swiss Medica for stem cell therapy for autism. This is already their 4th visit in several years. Step by step, they see changes:
➖ richer vocabulary and more meaningful speech
➖ calmer behaviour and better interaction with other children
➖ more independence: he responds to instructions, understands daily routines and takes part in activities outside school

His parents say that not only their son’s life feels different, their whole family’s everyday life is easier and calmer. They also share that travelling to our clinic in Belgrade felt safe and well-organised: translators, doctors and nurses supported them at every step, so they never felt like they were in a foreign country.

When people first think about stem cell treatment, the hardest question is often not “Does it work?” but “Where do I even go?”

Different clinics use different protocols, cell sources, safety standards and approaches to each diagnosis — and this strongly influences both the results and how confident you feel during the whole journey.

To make this choice easier, we prepared a carousel “How to choose the right stem cell clinic for your condition”.

❓ These are the same questions patients usually ask our team at Swiss Medica before they decide to start treatment – and they are the principles we follow when we build our own programs.

You can use these cards both as a neutral comparison tool between different clinics and as a list of points to discuss during your free online consultation with us.

👉 Swipe through the cards, save the checklist and take it with you into any conversation about stem cell treatment. A thoughtful choice today supports better quality of life tomorrow.

🧩 When the patient was four years old, his parents heard the word “autism” for the first time.

Everyday life in Germany became a constant search for help: he did not respond when his mom spoke to him, he seemed distant, and standard options were limited to school-based ergo and physio. There were no real next steps that gave hope for bigger changes.

His mother refused to stop at “there is nothing more to do.” She started reading about stem cell therapy — first for stroke and blood cancer, then for autism. She compared several leading clinics in Panama, Switzerland and Mexico and finally chose Swiss Medica: quick answers, clear explanations, and a detailed medical consultation that felt honest and respectful.

Mother tried not to expect miracles, but she hoped for something very real:
🗣️ more speech,
🤝 better communication with others,
🌍 and a future where her son integrates into society more easily.

Soon after treatment, she already noticed a small but important shift: before, he used only one word; now she hears a second word joining it. For a parent of a non-speaking child, this feels like a door starting to open — a sign that his brain is beginning to “wake up.”

Living with peripheral neuropathy can feel like walking on “invisible feet” — numbness, cold at night, dizziness, and the fear that things will only get worse.

Our patient from Seville (Spain), has had peripheral neuropathy in his legs and feet for 4–5 years. Doctors told him the loss of sensitivity would progress and that pain would likely appear, with no real solution to reverse it.

Before coming to Swiss Medica, he tried almost everything available to him: electrical stimulation for his feet, foot massage and acupuncture, vitamin complexes and supportive medications.

Nothing really changed the course of the disease. The numbness continued to progress, and he started looking for another option — stem cell therapy for peripheral neuropathy.

💬 “I sent all my questions and doubts to the clinic. They answered professionally, I showed everything to my doctors, and in the end we decided this is the best option.”

His main goals with treatment:
💬 stop the progression of nerve damage
💬 protect what sensitivity he still has
💬 and, if possible, support nerve regeneration and regain some feeling in his feet

If you or a loved one live with peripheral neuropathy and want to understand how stem cell therapy can help support nerves and slow progression, this story may be helpful.

💬 “Every time we come, he learns something new.”

Father came to Swiss Medica from Israel with his son, diagnosed with autism (ASD). This is their third treatment in three years. After each visit, they notice new abilities that were not there before, from stopping a ball with his foot to reduced hand tremor and better focus.

He says the first months after treatment his son is more active, then things calm down and the positive changes become clear — closer to what a neurotypical child of his age can do. That is why the family decided to return again.

Father also shares how important the clinic environment is: responsive medical team, clear answers to questions, reduced stress, and a new facility that feels more like a hotel than a hospital.

If you are thinking about stem cell therapy for autism, this story may help you explore another option on your journey.

About SwissMedica

We started in 2011 in Lugano, Switzerland, when a group of medical specialists created a project to apply their knowledge in the field of regenerative medicine. They determined to realize the use of cell products in the treatment of various diseases, primarily those associated with the damage of tissues.

What Is Our Capability?

Swiss Medica specializes in the most cutting edge stem cell therapies. We use more than 10 cell products, among them multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MMSCs), stromal vascular fraction (SVF), fibroblasts, hematopoietic stromal cells, regulatory T-cells, dendritic cell vaccines and mononuclear cells (MNC).

In our laboratories we can cultivate and cryopreserve the patient’s own cells as well as donor cells, including placental cells. We also use all types of cell product administration (intravenous, intramuscular, local injections, etc.) to increase the likelihood of getting the intended result.
