"Physiotherapy didn't work for me!"

It's important to remember that physiotherapy is a profession, not a specific treatment.

Not all physiotherapy is the same... a patient may feel like they have failed physiotherapy, but what if they just got hot packs and electrostimulation?

Try to understand WHAT treatment someone has received before coming to you. Then provide high value care, specific to the individual, in order to maximise the chance of getting a good result.

As of today, April 23rd our doors are open again to deliver Physical therapy services as you are used to. Our practice must adhere to the following safety guidelines set by the Goverment to ensure that everybody stays healthy. ———————————————————————
• Keep 2m distance between the chairs in the waiting room
• There must be a hand sanitizer at the entrance of the practice, so that when the patient enters the practice, he / she can immediately disinfect his hands.
• The patient may sit in the waiting room no more than 15 minutes before the start of his / her appointment
• No walk ins
• Drivers or family will have to wait outside in their cars.
• The physiotherapist must disinfect the treatment table and other attributes / equipment with disinfectant (eg 70% alcohol, Dettol, Lysol) after every treatment;
• Wearing a mouth mask is NOT mandatory, for both the physiotherapist and the patient;
• Patients should be well informed that in the event of flu-like complaints, such as fever, cough, headache, etc., they should stay at home and not be allowed to show up at their appointment;
• If the patient is suspected of having COVID-19 infection, the physiotherapist should not treat the patient, give him a mask and send him / her directly to the General Practitioner.
• Patient must be able to wash hands with soap and water before and after treatment.

Sitting here alone in july 2019 at the very start of the renovation and construction of the practice was a moment that I will never forget, it was the moment where I suddenly was hit by a lot of mixed emotions at the the same time. A turningpoint in our lives where my mom and I together had chosen to say goodbye to our house, home, the place where I grew up in, and where my mom lived for about 53 years. A moment where you knew that this place would never be the same again and that it would have a completely different purpose than it had before. But at the other hand, it would be the start of something beautiful and completely new. Our own brand new practice in my own neighborhood. Fysiotherapie Jongbloed was under construction, a place where great memories would meet the new future. As I said before, A mixture of all kind of emotions like sadness and happiness mixed together, fear and courage, but most of all a sweet feeling of gratitude to my mom for believing in this project and for sacrificing her place for something yet unknown for her at that time. After a long period of preparation and hard work finally a dream was about to be converted in reality. Something to be proud of for sure.
