Protein pancakes 🥞

Makes 1 serving:
80g (1 cup) oats
1 ripe banana, mashed
180ml (3/4 cup) unsweetened soy milk
30g (1 scoop) plant protein
1 tsp baking bowder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp iodized salt

Per serving (not counting toppings):

Do you struggle with too much fiber?

Beans, grains and vegetables are usually loaded with fiber ;black beans, chickpeas, lentils, peas, soy beans, broccoli, quinoa, oats, etc; and for someone who can’t handle too much fiber it can be difficult getting enough protein from those foods alone

Your gut microbiome needs time to adjust (weeks, months, or even years) if you’re going from 10g of fiber a day (like people on a standard American diet) to 50g + like people on a wholefoods plant-based diet

Fiber is great though, don’t get me wrong! But most people are eating in a way that they aren’t getting near as much fiber as our ancestors used to get per day (cerca to 100g)

Personally I eat around 50-75g of fiber a day depending on what foods I consume that day which is great for bowel health, lowering your risk of heart disease, helping you feel full and more

These low fiber protein sources along with protein powder, mock meats, nuts and seeds are good in that they help you bump up your daily protein intake without increasing your daily fiber intake by much

BUT, make sure you’re eating a wide variety of wholefoods in addition to these sources (in the image) to get all the necessary nutrients your body needs
