A second child has died from measles during the state’s growing outbreak 💔 This outbreak has now sickened nearly 500 people, with the majority of cases happening among children who were unvaccinated. 🧒🏽👧🏻

📊 Measles is one of the most contagious diseases known; up to 90% of unvaccinated people exposed to the virus will become infected.

The best protection? MMR vaccination, which protects against measles, mumps, and rubella. ✅

🔹 CDC recommends:
1st dose of MMR at 12–15 months
2nd dose at 4–6 years

Teens and adults should be up to date, especially if traveling to an area with an outbreak

⚠️ Infants as young as 6 months may be vaccinated in outbreak areas

This outbreak is a sobering reminder: Vaccines save lives. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Talk to your healthcare provider about staying current on immunizations. 🗓️🩺
