Simple morning routines for the win🙌🏼

I feel like everything has become so overwhelming in the health & wellness space. It doesn't need to be so complicated. Simple daily routines + tools can yield amazing results!

Let's get back to basics - morning & evening routines, simple balanced meals, lots of variety, circadian rhythm syncing & gentle movement.

Have a beautiful day✨️

Happy Monday everyone🌸

Why do I add salt & lemon to my morning warm water?

Soo.. hydration isn't as simple as it may seem.. when your thirsty or feeling dehydrated you drink water yes? Now this isn't a bad thing but by just drinking water alone all day you are not going to be getting the minerals your body needs for proper hydration, especially if you use filtered water (which is always the better option -another post on that soon!)

By simple adding a pinch of good quality salt to your water you are allowing your body to hydrate on a cellular level! This is protecting your cells from environmental damage & dehydration & encouraging healthy cell turnover creating stronger, younger cells & a more youthful appearance! Amazing right?

I like to use pink himilayan salt but natural sea salt or celtic salt are also great options. Don't use normal table salt this is highly processed & not the same. You can also add lemon, ginger, veggies or even fruit to your water, which has a similar effect, but mostly adds a boost of vitamin c for extra radiance & a nice flavour😊🥒🍋🫐

I also love adding cucumber & parsley to my water -this supports kidney function -all veggies have different properties & do different things!

Will you try adding salt & lemon to your morning water? Let me know!

Sending love & light your way✨️
Have a beautiful day♡

5 reasons to start a meditation practice today!
If there was ever a time to practice mindfulness it would be now, & many of you may be surprised to know that there are many studies supporting the positive effects of meditation on the brain & the body👇🏼
1. Meditation purges stress chemicals in the body like adrenaline & cortisol, restoring the neurochemical balance, & helping us avoid mental health issues.
2. Meditation improves self-control by boosting brain function & regulating emotions.
3. Mediation improves focus, similarly to the above by boosting our brain's ability to concentrate & focus.
4. Meditation increases positive emotions by allowing us to center ourselves, gain perspective on the stressful things in life, & to count our blessings.
5. Meditation helps you to connect, with yourself & others by increasing our emotional intelligence & our feelings of social connection.

I recommend starting with a supported meditation practice via apps like 'headspace' or 'calm', this will allow you to get into a routine & help train your brain. After a few months you can start creating your own personal practice.
Happy meditating everyone🙏🏼💫

I never get tired of saying it: Real food heals.⠀

I truly believe that what you eat is the single most important thing you do every day to affect the health of your body and mind. Food is the road to your fully expressed life. ⠀

Food has the power to prevent and reverse disease, and the more we know about it, the more power we have to curate a targeted diet to help us reach our health goals. ⠀

The catch is that we have to choose the right foods, the ones that elevate us, and simultaneously ditch the poor-quality ones that harm us. There are powerful compounds in food—like curcumin, genistein, catechins, lycopene, resveratrol, quercetin—that have medicinal effects on the body. ⠀

That’s why I call the grocery store the drug store; we can literally eat our medicine at every meal.⠀

Relying on inexpensive, overly processed food is tempting, given our demanding lifestyles and schedules, but the cost to our health is quite large. Feasting on the sodium, fat and sugar bombs disguised as food can lead to serious diseases that cost hundreds of dollars in doctor’s visits and prescription drugs.⠀

What you choose to eat has profound implications for your own health and the health of our society, environment and economy. ⠀

We have more power than we think to change our health and the world and it all starts with food. ⠀

"Yes. Depression. It’s real, and no, it’s not something people can just 'snap out of.' I want to start off by just providing some key facts about depression. Depression affects about 350 million people worldwide. In fact, among 15-24 year olds, su***de is considered the second leading cause of death. Considering these stats, it’s so sad that there’s still such a big stigma against this mental health condition. People, please take the time to educate yourself in order to better understand how you can help someone who might be going through this. Also, just to put things into perspective, do most people think twice before getting treated for diseases like diabetes or heart disease? No, right? Similarly, depression is an illness of the brain. And the brain is an organ just like the others in your body. I’d say the most important one actually.

Everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Also, just as a side note to students, workers, everyone to be honest, set aside petty jealousies and trivial personalities and just care for each other. Life’s way too short!"
