PsychoTherapy in Cyprus Psychotherapy, Counselling and Personal Development. Somatic Therapy. Mindfulness. Or perhaps are experiencing symptoms of mental unwellness.

I am a systemic psychotherapist, a solution focused coach, a somatic trauma therapist and mindfulness instructor. Using elements from each of these modalities I provide an integrative and holistic approach to help others in their personal development and therapeutic journeys. Psychotherapy is useful for anyone who feels stuck or disconnected from their feelings, thoughts and emotions. By communicating individual experience with an empathetic and skilled professional we can move towards a place of wellbeing that is best aligned with individual values. Coaching can be a useful tool for those who want to progress and reach their goals, in relationships, in health, professionally or other. Somatic Therapy is based on the principle of embodied emotions, that our memories and emotions are stored in the body. When they are stuck from unprocessed and difficult life experiences they can cause an array of symptoms. By including the body in the therapeutic process, these difficulties can be released and moved toward wellness.

Have you ever considered talking with a mental health professional? Entering therapy is a big step towards mental wellness that requires a great deal of courage, particularly if we don’t know what to expect. Some things that are good to know are;
🌿Therapy is not just for people who have severe mental health symptoms. In fact serious mental illness may be prevented if symptoms are recognised and addressed earlier. Early warning signs of mental unwellness could be; low mood or mood swings, irritability, aggressiveness, tiredness or fatigue, withdrawal from friends and family, lack of motivation, general aches and pains or feeling ill, increased or decreased appetite, overwhelming thoughts, or any other sign of unbalanced wellbeing.
🌿Therapy is not about someone else telling you what’s best for you. A good therapist will listen and empathise with your unique situation, thoughts and feelings. The role of the therapist is to help you reflect and uncover the best ways for YOU to help yourself and to support you along the way.
🌿Therapy is not always a long and expensive process, depending on the needs of the client and their goals, real change and progress can occur in just a few sessions.
🌿Checking in with a mental health professional is a great way to look after you’re overall well-being. It can help to clarify your thoughts and identify the behaviours that are most inline with your life goals and purpose. There can be benefits to your relationships, your career, your self-esteem and your health.
🪴Reach out and ask for support, an understanding and non-judgemental professional can help you take positive steps towards improved health and wellness, can help you to clarify your thoughts and emotions, can help you plan steps towards your goals and remind you of the strengths you have that will help you get there.

Please could you spare a brief amount of time to assist in my research project on the topic of mental health and psychotherapy. This is for my Psychology Undergraduate degree at Arden University.

As our mental health continues to be impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic we at Acacia are striving to continue supporting our clients in-line with all protective protocols. Collectively to protect our well-being we must balance caution, with hope and with strength.

Our office sessions continue with social-distancing and protective measures including face masks, with the last available sessions currently at 6.30pm. Alternatively our clients can choose to do their sessions online, via video call which are available until our usual closing hours. Practicing gratitude is not always easy, that’s why it takes practice. The times where it may feel there is less to be thankful for, are the times that we need most to search and acknowledge what we have to be thankful for. Some may have more to be thankful for than others, but the purpose is not to measure your blessings it is to acknowledge that even when things are bad, there is still some good. Darkness is impossible without light. This shift in focus keeps the balance of good and bad so that when things are bad we remain hopeful and when they are good we are appreciative because nothing is permanent. Gratitude reminds us of our strengths, our tools, our resources and fuels our drive to keep going through the tough times and to slow down through the good times.

Nothing resets my mind and my body more effectively than my yoga practice. After periods of stress, worry, overwhelm, those days when it seems almost impossible to take care of yourself as responsibility and life are so demanding of you, that’s when ... yoga!! Even just a few minutes to connect with your breath, listen to your body, stretch and feel can be enough to send the message to your nervous system that it’s ok relax. Easing muscle tension, balancing hormones and calming the senses. Prolonged periods in fight or flight mode can be harmful to your health so it’s essential to recognize and restore when possible. Take a moment, breathe, feel, stretch, release 🙏
