It’s World

is one of the most common neurological disorders that anyone can develop it at any age.
It’s treatable and not contagious.

Although many underlying disease mechanisms can lead to epilepsy, the cause of the disease is still unknown in about 50% of cases globally. Its causes may include:

🟣Brain damage or trauma during birth
🟣Genetic syndromes and conditions
🟣Brain infection or tumour
🟣Severe head injury
🟣Stroke

People with epilepsy experience seizure episodes which result from excessive electrical discharges in a group of brain cells. Seizures vary in their type, duration, severity and frequency depending on where in the brain the disturbance first starts, and how far it spreads. Its symptoms include:

🟣Loss/Change in awareness or consciousness
🟣Changes to sensations (vision, hearing and taste)
🟣Incontinence, tongue bite or injury
🟣Unexplained confusion, sleepiness or weakness
🟣Sudden uncontrolled movements of an arm, leg or the whole body

To help a person having a seizure:
✅Lay the person down, on their side, head turned to help breathing
✅Ensure the person is breathing properly – loosen clothing around the neck
✅Place something soft under the head
✅Stay with the person until the seizure stops and they wake up
✅Don’t restrain the person or put anything in their mouth

🇫🇷 Masterclass in Simulation – Day 2 | Paris

Day 2 of the Train the Trainers in Simulation Masterclass in France was all about depth, realism, and educational impact.

Today we moved beyond technical simulation and focused on what truly matters:
🔹 how scenarios are designed to shape clinical judgement
🔹 how teams communicate under pressure
🔹 how simulation transforms experience into safer patient care

At Panasim, together with Panacea and EUSEM, we witnessed how high-fidelity environments, structured debriefing, and faculty development elevate healthcare training to a new level.

For Blue Pulse, this is not just participation — it is purpose.

What we are bringing back to Cyprus is:
✔ international best practices in medical simulation
✔ modern educational methodologies for trainers and institutions
✔ a culture of safety, preparedness, and continuous improvement
✔ a bridge between European expertise and local healthcare needs

Our vision is clear:
👉 to strengthen healthcare education in Cyprus
👉 to empower professionals through realistic, evidence-based simulation
👉 and to contribute meaningfully to patient safety and system resilience

Day 2 reaffirmed that simulation is not technology alone —
it is mindset, structure, and leadership.

And this is exactly the value Blue Pulse is committed to delivering.

🇬🇧 Blue Pulse - Announcement - Impact and Significance

📊 European Registry of Cardiac Arrest – EuReCa-THREE

The EuReCa-THREE study by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), spanning data from 28 European countries, presents a precise and sober picture of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and the time-critical factors affecting survival.

These numbers are not abstract metrics.
They represent real people, real communities, and real responsibilities.

🔍 Key findings:
• ROSC achieved in 31.1% of cases (17%–42.7%).
• Survival to hospital discharge: 7.5%.
• EMS response time: 10.4 minutes among survivors; 12.6 minutes in non-ROSC cases.
• Transport time to hospital: 15.7–16.4 minutes.

⏱️ These minutes — and often these seconds — determine whether someone returns home to their family. The study makes clear that even small delays profoundly reduce survival.

This affects:
• the performance of emergency services,
• the readiness of citizens,
• the preparedness of workplaces and public spaces,
• the responsibility of institutions to ensure adequate training and access to defibrillators.

Cardiac arrest does not discriminate. It can occur anywhere: at home, at work, in public areas, during normal daily activity.
And survival often depends on whether those nearby are prepared to act immediately.

At Blue Pulse, these findings reinforce the importance of:
• strengthening practical life-saving skills,
• supporting communities in building accessible PAD and CPR frameworks,
• promoting readiness and sustained awareness as part of everyday culture.

Statistics reveal reality.
Action reveals commitment.
