Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome.
A temporary disruption of the heart's normal pumping function in one area of the heart, often brought on by stressful situations, such as the death of a loved one, serious illness or trauma. The remainder of the heart functions normally or with even more forceful contractions resulting in the characteristic appearance of the left ventricle that resembles octopus 🐙 trap (Takotsubo in Japanese).
In this case, it was an old lady who admitted due to fall and facial fracture. A few hours later she complained about chest pain and shortness of breath. No coronary artery obstruction was found but the heart had the characteristic appearance of broken heart syndrome.
