We recommend the following steps to protect and maintain your vision during this season:

☀️ Protect Your Eyes from UV Exposure
Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can contribute to cataract formation and retinal damage. Wearing sunglasses with 100% UV protection and using wide-brimmed hats outdoors are essential preventive measures.

💦 Stay Properly Hydrated
Adequate hydration supports tear production and overall ocular comfort. Dehydration can exacerbate dry eye symptoms, particularly during seasonal changes.

🌳 Manage Seasonal Allergies
Pollen and airborne allergens can lead to redness, itching, and watery eyes. Avoid rubbing your eyes, practice regular hand hygiene, and consider preservative-free artificial tears to alleviate discomfort.

🍎 Maintain a Balanced Diet and Healthy Lifestyle
A diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as omega-3 fatty acids, supports eye health. Regular physical activity and sufficient sleep further promote optimal visual function.

🩺 Meet Your Doctor: Dr. Loukiana Tsierkezou

At our clinic, we believe patients should feel informed and confident about the professionals caring for their vision.

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Loukiana Tsierkezou, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Pantheo Eye Centre, who plays a vital role in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the cataract, medical retina, and inflammatory eye diseases (uveitis).

Dr. Tsierkezou earned her MD from the University of Ioannina in Greece and completed her ophthalmology training at the General Hospital of Athens. She further expanded her expertise with advanced fellowships in Medical Retina and Uveitis at internationally recognised centres, including the Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK.

Her areas of interest include the assessment and management of retinal conditions, diabetic eye disease, age‑related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy, and uveitis - a group of inflammatory eye diseases that can affect vision if not carefully treated.

Dr. Tsierkezou’s commitment to patient care and her specialist training ensure that complex retinal and inflammatory eye conditions are managed with precision and compassion.

🩺 Meet Your Specialist: Constantinos Kallias

At our clinic, we believe patients should feel informed and confident about the professionals caring for their vision. Following our “Know Your Doctor” series, we are now expanding the spotlight to include the wider team of specialists who play an essential role in delivering comprehensive eye care.

We are pleased to introduce Constantinos Kallias, Optometrist and Contact Lens Specialist at Pantheo Eye Centre, who plays a vital role in providing advanced eye care and fitting specialized contact lenses for complex visual needs.

Constantinos earned his BSc (Hons) in Optometry from UMIST University in Manchester and a Higher Diploma in Contact Lens Practice, becoming a qualified member of the College of Optometrists (MCOptom) in the UK. He has been an integral member of the Pantheo team since 2009.

His areas of interest include complex adult and pediatric refractions, specialist contact lens fitting for conditions such as keratoconus, corneal grafts, and post-surgery eyes, orthokeratology for myopia control in children, and management of congenital aphakia. He also provides therapeutic and cosmetic contact lenses for patients with challenging or sensitive eyes.

Fluent in Greek and English, Constantinos ensures clear communication and compassionate care for a diverse patient community.

📣 We are honored to introduce an additional Keynote Speaker of the Pantheo Congress
2026.

- Professor Pantelis Papadopoulos -

Pantelis Papadopoulos MD, PhD, FEBO, FEBOS-CR, is an anterior segment surgeon based in Athens, Greece, with subspecialty interests in cataract, glaucoma, corneal, and refractive surgery, artificial iris implantation, and anterior segment reconstruction.

He serves as Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Athens Metropolitan Hospital, a position he has held since 2002, and is the Founder and Medical Director of the Ophthalmo-Check Eye Centre in Athens. He also holds the title of Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nicosia, Athens Branch.

Professor Papadopoulos is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology and holds a PhD from the University of Leipzig, Germany.

In 2017, he was among the first 15 European ophthalmic surgeons to be awarded the FEBOS-CR title. He served as President of the Hellenic Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery from 2007 to 2011 and as Vice President from 2011 to 2019. He was Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly journal Ophthalmochirurgiki (Ophthalmic Surgery) from 1999 to 2024 and is a member of numerous Hellenic and international ophthalmological societies.

His academic and surgical distinctions include participation in the first Quadruple Anterior Segment Reconstruction procedure worldwide in 2012 and the first SING IMT implantation with femtosecond laser assistance worldwide in May 2022.

We are privileged to welcome Professor Papadopoulos to the Congress where we look forward to benefiting from his expertise and distinguished perspectives.
