A few months apart.

I suffer from hypothyroidism and if you have this you will know that you get many symptoms…. Slow metabolism/weight gain/low energy/puffy face/edema/dry skin/hair loss/high cholesterol/joint pains/muscle aches/brain fog/depression/heavy periods/eye issues/constantly feeling cold. 🥶

The reason I’m posting this, is because I am slightly fed up with seeing comments like “ mounjaro it’s the lazy way” “ why can’t you just stop eating” “ just go to the gym!!” The list goes on…..

I researched for months about the effect taking Mounjaro would have on my thyroid and thyroid meds, I also take meds for High BP and high cholesterol.

Taking Mounjaro has been the best thing ever. My BP is back within normal range and so is my cholesterol, my aches and pains have decreased, my puffy face has gone, I’m less tired although I do get days when I need a nap 💤, my hair loss has decreased and my skin looks much much better…….but the big thing is it has helped me to lose weight when nothing else could help.

So before you judge please think and be kind.

Gynocomastia

Gynecomastia is the benign enlargement of male breast tissue, usually caused by an imbalance between estrogen (female hormone) and androgen (male hormone) activity.

🧠 Basic Mechanism
• Men normally have both androgens and estrogens, but androgens dominate.
• If estrogen levels increase or androgen levels decrease, the balance shifts.
• This causes proliferation of glandular breast tissue (not just
fat).

⚙️ Types of Surgery

There are two main surgical approaches, often combined in one procedure:

1. Liposuction
• Used when fat tissue is the main cause of enlargement (pseudogynecomastia).
• Small incisions (about 5 mm) are made near the chest.
• A thin tube (cannula) connected to suction removes excess fat.
• Minimal scarring and quicker recovery.

2. Excision (Gland Removal)
• Needed when firm glandular tissue is present under the ni**le.
• A small incision is usually made at the edge of the ar**la (the darker skin around the ni**le).
• The surgeon excises the glandular tissue and may also remove extra skin if needed.
• Sometimes combined with liposuction for best contour.

🏥 Procedure Overview
• Anesthesia: Local with sedation or general anesthesia.
• Duration: About 1–2 hours.
• Outpatient surgery: You usually go home the same day.

⏱️ Recovery
• Compression garment: Worn for 3–4 weeks to reduce swelling and help skin conform to the chest.
• Pain: Usually mild to moderate, controlled with medication.
• Return to work: In 3–7 days (light duties).
• Exercise: Avoid heavy chest workouts for 4–6 weeks.
• Final results: Usually visible after 3 months once swelling subsides.
