𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪? 🤖 A new device called PillBot is reimagining how doctors examine the stomach. Demonstrated at AIG Hospitals in India in 2025, this swallowable robot is designed to be taken just like a pill and then remotely guided through the stomach to capture high-resolution images.
Measuring roughly 13 mm × 30 mm, PillBot contains a miniature camera, sensors, and wireless transmitters. As it travels, it sends live visuals of the stomach lining to a monitor, helping doctors look for ulcers, bleeding, or inflammation without sedation, tubes, or recovery time. After finishing its “mission,” the capsule is simply passed naturally within about 24–48 hours.
PillBot remains an investigational technology, with clinical trials and regulatory reviews still in progress, but it showcases how robotics could make future gastrointestinal diagnostics more comfortable and more widely available.
