Dear friends,

Here we come to the final session of 'Meditations on bhagavad-gita' program!πŸ₯°πŸ’•

We have been meditating together through this program for about 6 months now and it is delightful to see how all of us have benefitted from this program in one way or the other. Let's join our hearts tomorrow and meditate together. My heart is full of gratitude for being a part of this sangha or association of beautiful souls. Thank you for embarking on this beautiful journey with me. I am forever grateful πŸ™πŸ’•

The 26th attribute of divine nature as mentioned in bhagavad-gita is 'modesty' or 'hree'. The sanskrit word 'hree' can be translated as 'conscientiousness' which guides us to take actions that are appropriate and to refrain from non-virtuous or evil actions.

In this 25-minute session, we shall be contemplating on all the 26 divine virtues together in a form of an invocation. All these meditations are being offered for free.

Please note the details for tomorrow:

Date : 9th February (Wednesday) at 4 pm (Cyprus time)

Dear friends,

Tomorrow we shall be meditating on our second last or 25th attribute of divine nature from bhagavad-gita. It is 'gentleness' or 'mardava'.

The word 'mardava' comes from the sanskrit root word 'mridu' which means 'soft, tender and mild'. 'Mardava' is the divine quality of the tenderness of the heart and a compassionate outlook towards everyone. Gentleness in thought, word and action help to prevent resentment and hostility which impede our peace of mind.

We shall be meditating for 25 minutes on this delicate virtue of divine nature. These meditations are open for everyone. All are welcome to join πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ’•

Dear friends,

Tomorrow we shall be meditating on the 24th attribute of divine nature from the bhagavad-gita. It is 'absence of hatred' or 'adroha'.

'Adroha' means the absence of vengeful feelings or hatred towards those who have harmed us. These feelings bring us pain on both psychological and physical levels and take us away from the connection with the divine self.

We shall be doing a 25-minute meditation which will include teachings from the bhagavad-gita on tolerance and universal friendliness. These sessions are absolutely free of charge. All are warmly invited to join ❀

Dear friends,

We shall be meditating on the 23rd attribute of divine nature from bhagavad-gita - 'Unmalicious speech' or 'apaishunam'.

Bhagavad-gita and hindu philosophy as such regard purity of being as an essential discipline for a spiritual seeker. This purity has to be maintained at all levels - mind, body and speech to alleviate suffering for oneself and others.

We shall contemplate on the teachings of Bhagavad-gita on purity of speech in our 25 minute guided meditation. These meditation sessions are free and open for everyone. I warmly invite everyone to join ❀️

12/01/2021

Dear friends,

We shall be meditating tomorrow on the 22nd attribute of divine nature from bhagavad-gita. It is 'tyaga' or 'renunciation of fruits of action'.

The word 'tyaga' means 'letting go'. In the context of bhagavad-gita, it means 'letting go of attachment to results of actions'. This is the core teaching of bhagavad-gita. The underlying idea behind this teaching is the surrendering of the ego or the lower self which interferes with the Divine plan.

Non-attachment does not mean cold indifference but an absence of egoic motivations and reactions regarding our actions. This attitude of self-surrender helps us transcend our ego and progress on the spiritual path. This is what is called by bhagavad-gita as 'karma-yoga' or 'the path of action leading to God'.

We shall be doing a 25-minute meditation on the teachings of bhagavad-gita on the attribute of 'tyaga'. These meditations are open for everyone and all are welcome to join.

05/01/2021

Dear friends,

We shall be meditating on the 21st attribute of divine nature mentioned in bhagavad-gita. It is 'Shaucham' meaning 'cleanliness'. In the context of the divine attributes, it means not only external cleanliness of the body and the surroundings but also internal cleanliness or the purity of mind. We shall be focusing on the internal cleanliness in our meditation.

Bhagavad-gita asserts that we are originally pure in nature. The atman or the true self is pure, perfect, blissful and ever-free. It is the ignorance of our true nature that breeds impurities like anger, hatred, greed, pride and envy in us. Ignorance is removed through knowledge about the Self and this knowledge is attained through meditation. The more we align our consciouness with our true self, the purer we become.

We shall be doing a 25-minute guided meditation on purity of mind. These meditations are open for everyone. I warmly invite everyone to join ❣️

29/12/2020

Hello friends,

We shall be meditating on the 20th attribute of divine nature as mentioned in bhagavad-gita. It is 'Sacrifice' or 'yagya'.

The word 'yagya' originates from the sanskrit root 'yaj' meaning 'to honor or revere'. As per the ancient Vedic texts, yagya is a ritual done in front of a sacred fire in which an offering is made to seek God's blessings. the Bhagavad-gita however talks about the symbolic meaning of yagya which is 'any selfless activity in which the individual surrenders his lower self to the higher self in a spirit of service or dedication'.

We shall be doing a meditation with contemplation on the teachings of this beautiful virtue. These sessions are open for everyone and are being offered free of charge. I warmly invite everyone to join these sessions β€πŸ™

22/12/2020

Hello friends,

We shall be meditating tomorrow on our next attribute of divine nature from bhagavad-gita. It is akrodha or absence of anger.

Anger is a manifestation of attachment to desires. When our desires do not get fulfilled or when somebody stands in the way obstructing our wishes, we feel angry. So, bhagavad-gita validates that anger is present in every human being.

'Akrodha' does not mean removing the causes of anger but it implies a positive attribute of remaining calm and even-minded despite the circumstances. We shall meditate on the teachings imparted by bhagavad-gita on this aspect of calmness.

Hello dear friends,

Join us for meditation tomorrow on zoom on the 19th attribute of divine nature from Bhagavad-gita. It is 'Study of the Self' or 'Swadhyaya'.

Bhagavad-gita encourages us to constantly engage ourselves in introspective self-analysis in order to understand our true nature. As sage Patanjali said in yoga sutras: 'Study the Self, discover the divine'.

We shall be doing a guided meditation sharing the eternal message of the bhagavad-gita on the true nature of the self. Please note the details:

08/12/2020

Dear friends,

We shall be meditating tomorrow on zoom on the 18th attribute of divine nature as mentioned in Bhagavad-gita. It is 'Absence of greed'.

Greed is the egoic desire to accumulate more than what one really needs. Superfluous desires lead to agitation of the mind that inhibit the sense of inner peace in us.

Aloluptvam is a state of non-attachment and non-craving where the mind is content in inner joy. Bhagavad-gita asserts "A truly content person is one who is happy in the self through the self".

We shall be contemplating on the teachings of bhagavad-gita with a 25-minute guided meditation on contentment. These meditation sessions are absolutely free and are suitable for all levels. I warmly invite everyone to join in these meditations.
