Getting ready for today's class.. we always set an intention or have some theme for our classes!

Today's theme is the head, the mind...trying to quite the mind, trying to bring stillness to our body, to our breath!

Our mind can hold a lot of overthinking, self-critisism and constant stimulation. This can lead to mental exhaustion, difficulty concentrating and even headaches!!

Our affirmation for this class will be
"I release mental pressure and give my mind space to rest and reset"

For the next few sessions we will continue with the entire body, following after the head, is the neck, the shoulders, hands, chest (heart), throat, stomach, lower back, hips (pelvis), feet!!

My comfort food for a coldish day...tomato soup!!

Tried to boost my meal, with 1/4 tsp turmeric, some black pepper, grated ginger and lots of lemon!
I always use whatever I'm eating to mix in these magic anti-inflamatory ingredients in this case it was tomato soup!

Part III

Boost the body with nutrients in and hydration, plenty of water and teas (ginger, thyme are really good)

Vitamin C rich foods = kiwis, oranges, anything green, or orange (citrus, carrots), nourishing soups and even yoghurt.

Best to avoid SUGAR and mucus forming foods like bananas, milk and cheese

And go a little further with green powder (spirulina or moringa - packed with vitamins and antioxidants) I sprinkle some in his sandwich!

Thanks for reading until the end!!
3 years ago dude was hospitalised after having high fever for several days (from some kind of bacterial infection) which left me traumatised as he was literally glued on me for the entire five days AND nights we where there!! Ever since whenever he gets a bit sniffy I panic!! And try really hard to boost him so we never end up there again.

Truly wish only health and pure joy in all our little ones' bodies this winter and every day of course 💗💗💗

Part II - homeopathic remedies and supplements (advised by my naturopath)

Homeopathic remedies that help with coughing and generally the immune system

Essential oils (I usually use oregano and eucalyptus) with a carrier oil (coconut oil) rub on chest and feet

Rosa canina again to support the body during a cold and can help to prevent ear infections. Put a few drops in water

As clean as I can get vitamin booster

What we do when we have a cold...

Part I - The Onion

Peel two onions,
Put one in a bowl topped with honey and leave overnight so it turns into a syrup, use 2 teaspoons twice a day.
Slice the other onion and leave beside bed (helps with congestion) & Put some in socks overnight (can help to reduce coughing)

....and they loved it!!! I don't think any made it home for tomorrow's cereal though 😄

Trying not to forget about lymphatic drainage when I was in Italy...in this beautiful apartment 😋 as I didn't have my rebounder (mini trampoline)

It's important to get the lymphatic system going as it's an important part of the body's immune system. It also plays an important role in maintaining healthy fluid levels in the body, removing cellular debris and harmful substances from the tissues.

I feel it helps with my energy levels, better digestion and even skin!! ...more on that soon

Our Story

Healthy Yogis was created in 2013 with an aim to combine my background in nutrition, together with my love for cooking and my passion to work with families and children, educating and inspiring them to experiment with healthier, plant-based ingredients in order to enjoy yummy AND nutritious meals, snacks, desserts! Classes for children are a 2hr class, a 1hr cooking class (introducing to children more plant based recipes) followed by a 1hr yoga class. Yoga is practised in a fun and energetic way, including basic yoga poses and correct breathing & meditation techniques. Our class is a great combination for improving physical activity, body strength & posture as well as helping your little ones understand the importance of using healthy ingredients to help nourish their growing bodies!! My aim is to educate and encourage little ones to adopt healthier dietary and lifestyle options. Learning about ingredients and how to cook from a young age gives the children the knowledge and tools they need to make healthier food options, Yoga teaches them self-love and self-respect which means they WANT to make better choices for themselves
