Menopause is maybe the longest transition in a woman’s life and comes with all kinds of physiological and psychological changes. When I was attacked by Menopause at the young age of 45, in the middle of the 1st Covid Lockdown, I felt like my life was ending. So I decided to take matters in my hands, Read a lot about it and then proceeded to complete my “Pilates for the Menopause” training with my Association, BCP UK.
5 years later I can guarantee that Pilates can be a total game changer in handling the endless list of symptoms so that women can get on with their life feeling strong, confident and happy! The exercises we teach in Pilates for the Menopause have the potential for a truly positive impact on bone health, strength, flexibility, balance and mental well being.
All you have to do is be open about it and give it a try!

A few hours before this year ends I d like to share some thoughts with everyone that follows me on this page. This year marked my 50th Birthday! Thank God and My Lucky Stars I am alive and healthy (never take life for granted!!!!!) . Since the age of 22 I have been a Teacher of Movement. I dedicated my professional life to teaching children and adults how to move better in order to improve the quality of their lives and enhance performance in all its aspects.
My career has never been easy because Cyprus is a very difficult place for this! I have struggled and pushed through thick and thin, always learning, doing more Training, staying up to date with the fast pace of the world of Fitness. I am not a fitness coach per se, I am a Pilates Master and Ballet teacher who has managed to amalgamate all knowledge into one, what I call “Christie’s style “. My motto is “move for life”
This year I had the amazing opportunity to write my First Manual of Movement for Dancers which I have shared exclusively with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Modern Ballet Degree Course). It is such an Honour to be recognised outside of this country and appreciated for all the hard work and knowledge. I have also had the pleasure of sharing some of this work with the students of some wonderful Ballet Schools in Nicosia, teaching workshops on weekends. I organised my First Retreat in May in Ayia Napa and it was a fantastic weekend and a huge success! I continue to teach Online 6 days a week for all the people that live far and/or abroad and also those that are too busy to take my classes in person.
All this while I am at the same time a mother/chef/taxi driver 😆
It’s been quite a year and I am grateful!
Thank you to all the people I call “clients” who are also friends! Thank you to those that follow me and press the Like Button. Thank you to my family for being near me 24/7 . Happy New Year and Keep Moving! 🥰

This post is for the women that attended my brunch yesterday. Its for those special ladies that i hug tight, the people that have stuck with me through thick and thin, from studio to online classes day after day, sharing their routine, the hiccups, the ups and downs, the victorious days and the not so good ones! The clients that became friends through years of trust! They know me, they believe in me and respect my vision and life goal to HELP WOMEN BECOME BETTER VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES THROUGH MOVEMENT! Pregnancy, Menopause, Bone Health, Neck Pain, Knee Replacements , we ve seen it all, we ve taken care of every little issue. And every day is a victory when you are feeling healthy and strong! For privacy reasons I will not post any photos of our get together, but I am sending a big hug to all and promise to continue learning and sharing my knowledge with you! Thank you for moving with me!

Snippets of my recent “Active Stretch for Dancers” workshop at . I can’t emphasise enough the importance of proper which is something that most young dancers hate or are too lazy to engage in! If we actively mobilise our joints we can achieve the benefits of stretching without the boredom or pain of static movement. and are used to facilitate my work and every single movement is performed with special reference to a ballet movement so that it all makes sense! Its a real challenge to create and maintain excitement for dancers of this age, because they are constantly bombarded by media distractions! These lot were super keen, respectful and curious and worked very hard! Well done to all and a big thank you to their teacher for trusting me!

As a , I spent countless hours in this position, either lying on cold floors in dressing rooms or lounge areas or on my bed studying! For a dancer, the legs up position usually means one thing but for every day life, the benefits are plenty! Give it a try!

With the completion of 50 years of life on this earth, a lot of medical tests are added to our busy calendars 😂 and last week I did my very first test!
World osteoporosis day is celebrated every year on October 20th. Osteoporosis nowadays affects 200 million people worldwide and the number is gradually increasing because of the aging population of the world. In simple terms is a chronic condition affecting the mass of our bones (low density). Bones become porous and this potentially brings fractures. According to the announcement of the Endocrine Society of Cyprus, research shows that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men over 50 years of age are affected. Most common causes are of course in women and ! Important risk factors are immobility/lack of exercise, low body weight, genetics, smoking and alcohol abuse Osteoporosis is called the “silent disease” as it does not really show clear symptoms before a stress fracture occurs. Most common fractures are related to the spine, the pelvis and the wrist and they’re accompanied by pain, loss of height, kyphosis and diminishing quality of life. The absolute best way to prevent osteoporosis is of course to and follow a diet that is rich in vitamin D and calcium. and are great forms of exercise especially when resistance/ loading is added and are considered very safe, in combination with a routine of daily walks. There’s never a perfect moment! All we have is NOW! Join me and my wonderful community to exercise daily from the comfort of your own home or office (hotel room? Vacation spot? Park? ) without the hassle of driving to a studio and stressing about being late , kids, meetings etc. We do , , we talk and joke at the start and finish of a session, we share birthday wishes and travel tips and do what friends do! Nutrition matters more than you think
Your body reflects how you feed it!
Without enough fuel, the right kind of fuel, there are no results. Not eating enough is as bad as overeating in my opinion.
I am 50 years old and have managed to maintain my body weight as it was when i started my University studies. Its hard work and it got even harder when I went through menopause! At that stage one gains fat and loses muscle! I have had to change the way I eat, the kind of things I eat. 5 and a half years ago I stopped poisoning my body with sugar! Just like holding a pair of scissors ✂️ and cutting it off! I never went back to it!!! I am strong and healthy and I want the same for you too!
So, let’s start our weekend with a great breakfast!
