And this is what makes US Pilatistas different!!!! Every day you ll see something new on social media, you ll probably want to try it all and feel the hype … when you return to though (which is what Joseph Pilates himself called his method) you know that is where you are deeply rooted! Some days the body needs CLARITY! You try to work harder but it doesn’t happen, your body feels shaky, tense, rushed … at this point it’s not asking for more strength, it’s asking for SAFETY! And that’s when the power of authentic Pilates really hits the target ! Less tension, full control of body movement versus mind. Real Pilates calms first and then comes the strength !

Saturday is for Stretch … or Strength??? I ve been putting words to the initials of each day of the week for quite some time now, looking for more ways to inspire my clients for the weekly schedule and their goals.
Saturday is the pillar stone of the weekend, everything revolves around it. The Saturday morning feeling when you wake up and take that very first STRETCH in bed is pure pleasure! So with that euphoric state of being, why not devote it to Stretching? It can be anything from 5 minutes in your bed, to a full stretch class on your mat, a stretch after your morning run, or when you’re done cleaning your house … if you have been driving for hours to go see family or travelling for work, don’t you need a good stretch after that? If you’re studying or working a long shift, you need to pause and stretch … to do this though, you need to find the Strength, the will, the motivation plus the physical strength to stretch, right? Lets say it clearly, how many people actually love to stretch? It’s debatable! How many know the benefits of stretching? Almost everyone! So the verdict goes to “Saturday is for Stretch AND Strength!”Whatever works for you, whatever triggers the mind to take the decision to sit on that mat … or maybe stand? Unless you want to do a full Strength day 😆 😂Have a great one!

Menopause is maybe the longest transition in a woman’s life and comes with all kinds of physiological and psychological changes. When I was attacked by Menopause at the young age of 45, in the middle of the 1st Covid Lockdown, I felt like my life was ending. So I decided to take matters in my hands, Read a lot about it and then proceeded to complete my “Pilates for the Menopause” training with my Association, BCP UK.
5 years later I can guarantee that Pilates can be a total game changer in handling the endless list of symptoms so that women can get on with their life feeling strong, confident and happy! The exercises we teach in Pilates for the Menopause have the potential for a truly positive impact on bone health, strength, flexibility, balance and mental well being.
All you have to do is be open about it and give it a try!

A few hours before this year ends I d like to share some thoughts with everyone that follows me on this page. This year marked my 50th Birthday! Thank God and My Lucky Stars I am alive and healthy (never take life for granted!!!!!) . Since the age of 22 I have been a Teacher of Movement. I dedicated my professional life to teaching children and adults how to move better in order to improve the quality of their lives and enhance performance in all its aspects.
My career has never been easy because Cyprus is a very difficult place for this! I have struggled and pushed through thick and thin, always learning, doing more Training, staying up to date with the fast pace of the world of Fitness. I am not a fitness coach per se, I am a Pilates Master and Ballet teacher who has managed to amalgamate all knowledge into one, what I call “Christie’s style “. My motto is “move for life”
This year I had the amazing opportunity to write my First Manual of Movement for Dancers which I have shared exclusively with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Modern Ballet Degree Course). It is such an Honour to be recognised outside of this country and appreciated for all the hard work and knowledge. I have also had the pleasure of sharing some of this work with the students of some wonderful Ballet Schools in Nicosia, teaching workshops on weekends. I organised my First Retreat in May in Ayia Napa and it was a fantastic weekend and a huge success! I continue to teach Online 6 days a week for all the people that live far and/or abroad and also those that are too busy to take my classes in person.
All this while I am at the same time a mother/chef/taxi driver 😆
It’s been quite a year and I am grateful!
Thank you to all the people I call “clients” who are also friends! Thank you to those that follow me and press the Like Button. Thank you to my family for being near me 24/7 . Happy New Year and Keep Moving! 🥰

This post is for the women that attended my brunch yesterday. Its for those special ladies that i hug tight, the people that have stuck with me through thick and thin, from studio to online classes day after day, sharing their routine, the hiccups, the ups and downs, the victorious days and the not so good ones! The clients that became friends through years of trust! They know me, they believe in me and respect my vision and life goal to HELP WOMEN BECOME BETTER VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES THROUGH MOVEMENT! Pregnancy, Menopause, Bone Health, Neck Pain, Knee Replacements , we ve seen it all, we ve taken care of every little issue. And every day is a victory when you are feeling healthy and strong! For privacy reasons I will not post any photos of our get together, but I am sending a big hug to all and promise to continue learning and sharing my knowledge with you! Thank you for moving with me!

Snippets of my recent “Active Stretch for Dancers” workshop at . I can’t emphasise enough the importance of proper which is something that most young dancers hate or are too lazy to engage in! If we actively mobilise our joints we can achieve the benefits of stretching without the boredom or pain of static movement. and are used to facilitate my work and every single movement is performed with special reference to a ballet movement so that it all makes sense! Its a real challenge to create and maintain excitement for dancers of this age, because they are constantly bombarded by media distractions! These lot were super keen, respectful and curious and worked very hard! Well done to all and a big thank you to their teacher for trusting me!
