Not all supplements are created equal. In fact, low-quality ones can do more harm than good, especially when you’re trying to have a baby later in life.

That’s why I only recommend professional-grade brands. When shopping for supplements, here are 3 key things to look for ✨

1️⃣ Pure Ingredients Only:
Active ingredients are the nutrients that make a difference. But many cheap supplements are loaded with unnecessary additives like magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, starch, “natural” flavors, or artificial dyes. The best supplements skip these and give you only what your body needs.

2️⃣ High-Quality, Bioavailable Forms:
Your body absorbs some forms of nutrients far better than others. For example, look for methylated folate instead of folic acid, or ubiquinol instead of standard CoQ10. Small differences like this can make a huge impact.

3️⃣ Third-Party Testing:
Trusted brands go through independent testing (like NSF certification) to confirm potency and purity so you’re not also consuming heavy metals, pesticides, or contaminants.

Why it matters:

🚫 Fillers and poor-quality ingredients stress your liver and gut. These organs play key roles in balancing hormones, absorbing fertility-boosting nutrients, and lowering inflammation. These are essential for healthy conception!

🌿 Professional-grade supplements ensure your body is actually absorbing the nutrients you’re paying for.

Yes, you can become more fertile as you age! Once we get into our late 30’s and beyond, our overall health is a much better predictor of our fertility than our age is. I was highly inflamed and suffered from a variety of health issues at 38, but at 48, I’m way more fertile. Why? Because I addressed underlying health issues! If we suffer from any type of health issue, our fertility likely will suffer. Have you been told your fertility struggles are simply a result of your age and poor egg quality, yet you suffer from any of the following:

🔹 Unexplained fatigue
🔹 Anxiety
🔹 Brain fog
🔹 Hair loss
🔹 Digestive issues (bloating, IBS, constipation, diarrhea)
🔹 Insomnia
🔹 Chronic headaches
🔹 Muscle aches or joint pain
🔹 Chronic yeast infections

These symptoms aren’t random. They’re signals.

Signals of inflammation. Blood sugar instability. Gut dysfunction. Nutrient depletion. Immune stress.

And all of those directly impact hormone balance, egg quality, and implantation.

Before accepting “it’s just your age,” start with your foundation.

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my free Fertility Diet Foundations guide — the exact framework I use to help women lower inflammation, stabilize hormones, and support fertility naturally. 💛

An LH surge does not confirm ovulation. It only means your body is attempting to ovulate. True confirmation happens after ovulation. Here’s how to tell if you truly ovulated:

✨ 1. Basal Body Temperature (BBT)
Your resting temperature rises slightly after ovulation due to progesterone. Track your BBT daily (before getting out of bed) and look for 3+ days of temps that are 0.5–1.0°F (0.3°C) higher than the previous 6 days. A wearable like Tempdrop is great if you wake up often or have inconsistent sleep.

✨ 2. Progesterone Blood Test
About 6–8 days after ovulation, progesterone peaks. A simple blood test can measure it:
* >5 ng/mL = ovulation likely occurred
* >10 ng/mL = ideal for implantation and early pregnancy support.

✨ 3. At-Home PdG Testing
Fertility monitors like Proov, Mira, and Inito measure PdG (a urine marker of progesterone) to confirm ovulation. A post-ovulation rise in PdG means your body released an egg!

When you confirm ovulation, you stop guessing and start working with real data.

Is his semen analysis “normal”?

Let’s talk about why that might not be enough to conceive.

The reality:

Average s***m quality has dropped by ~50% over the last 50 years. What’s considered “normal” today would have been considered suboptimal just a few decades ago.

Why this matters:

✅ Male factor contributes to about half of infertility cases
✅ Couples can struggle to conceive even with technically “normal” results
✅ Aiming for optimal s***m health (not just meeting minimums) can make a meaningful difference

The good news:
Sperm health is one of the most modifiable pieces of fertility and can improve in as little as 2–3 months.

Factors like nutrition, alcohol intake, heat exposure, toxin and EMF exposure, exercise habits, and stress all play a role. Targeted supplements can further support s***m quality by reducing oxidative stress and improving motility and DNA integrity.

Many of the women I work with come to me after years of trying to conceive.
Failed IVF cycles. Recurrent miscarriages. Endless testing.

And yet…
One critical piece is often overlooked: the uterine lining.

And for many of my clients, that is the missing link. Once we focus on it, they are able to conceive and carry a baby to term.

🩸 A healthy uterine lining is essential for implantation and pregnancy. It’s literally the home for your future baby. But it doesn’t get nearly enough attention.

Here’s what we focus on:

🧪 (Thorough) medical testing for inflammation, dysbiosis, infections, or scar tissue that could be silently interfering
💗 Estrogen support to build optimal thickness (ideally 8–12mm)
🫀 Improving blood flow through gentle movement, hydration, and keeping those feet warm!
🍓 Nourishing foods rich in iron, vitamin C, healthy fats, protein, and warming spices
💊 Targeted supplements like ubiquinol, D3/K2, vitamin E, and omega-3s
🛌 Reducing stress + prioritizing sleep to support hormone balance

If you’ve been doing “everything right” and still aren’t getting answers, don’t overlook your uterine lining.

Fertility isn’t declining just because women are “waiting too long.”

In today’s modern world, our biology is under constant pressure.

And many of the challenges we see are not normal.

What’s showing up earlier and more widely than ever:

🔺 High FSH
❌ Diminished ovarian reserve
🥚 Poor egg quality
🔄 Cycle disruption
🦋 Thyroid issues
🔋 Mitochondrial dysfunction
🦠 Disrupted microbiomes
🧠 Nervous system burnout
📉 A massive collapse in s***m quality
🔥 Chronic inflammation
⚡ Nutrient depletion

Our mothers and grandmothers didn’t grow up in the same chemical soup we did:

Plastics, fragrance, ultra-processed food, endocrine disruptors, chronic stress.

By our 40s, hormones are already more sensitive and modern exposures amplify the challenges.

Here’s the empowering part:

Many of these chemicals have short half-lives. When exposure is reduced, hormone signaling improves, inflammation drops, and foundational systems (eggs, thyroid, mitochondria, gut, nervous system) can recover.

Age matters, but it’s definitely not the whole story.
You just need a modern fertility strategy for a modern world 💛

I used to swear by keto and low-carb in my 20s and early 30s. If I ever needed to quickly lose a few pounds, that always did the trick. Now, in my 40s I’m very mindful to include healthy sources of carbs to keep my cortisol in check. For women over 40, strict low-carb diets can work against fertility, hormone balance, and even weight loss.

Here’s why:

🧠 Cortisol & Hormonal Stress

Perimenopause is a more sensitive hormonal time. Going too low in carbs can increase cortisol.

High cortisol can:
* Suppress ovulation
* Lower progesterone
* Keep the body in fight or flight where the body deprioritizes pregnancy.

🦋 Thyroid & Metabolism

Thyroid issues are common in our 40s and your thyroid plays a MAJOR role in fertility. You need adequate carbs to help convert inactive thyroid hormone (T4) into its active form (T3), which directly supports ovulation, progesterone production, and a healthy menstrual cycle.

⚖️ Weight Loss That Supports Fertility

Yes, insulin balance matters. But going too low-carb for too long can backfire when stress and hormonal shifts are already at play.

✅ Most women do well with a moderate carb approach. Around 80–130g of carbs/day from root veggies, fruit, small amounts of white rice, and legumes, if tolerated.
✅ Some women need even more to support ovulation, thyroid function, and adrenal health.
✅ It’s not about going back to what worked in your 20s. It’s about giving your body what it needs now to function at its best.

If you’ve been labeled with “unexplained infertility,” “secondary infertility,” or “old eggs,” your doctor or clinic likely isn’t digging deep enough.

In many cases, only minimal testing is done, looking at just a few basic biomarkers, keeping the root cause of your fertility challenges (and the solution to a healthy pregnancy) hidden.

That was my story too. I naturally conceived my children at 43 and 46, even after being diagnosed with early menopause at age 43. And I see the same pattern in many of my clients who come to me after working with fertility specialists who simply didn’t look deep enough.

So how do you uncover and address the real root causes of your fertility challenges? Every case is unique, but here are the primary areas that are commonly overlooked:

• Gut health: Is digestion and nutrient absorption supporting fertility?
• Vaginal & uterine microbiome: Are beneficial bacteria optimized for implantation?
• Uterine environment: Is the lining receptive with good blood flow?
• Inflammation & oxidative stress: Are hidden stressors damaging egg quality?
• Mitochondrial health: Do your eggs have the energy they need to mature properly?
• Blood sugar: Are glucose levels stable throughout the day?
• Thyroid health: Are all thyroid markers truly optimal, not just “normal”?
• Progesterone: Is your luteal phase strong enough to support pregnancy?
• Vitamin D: Are levels in a fertility-supportive range?
• Environmental toxins: Are plastics, mold, or pesticides interfering with hormones?
• Nervous system: Does your body feel safe enough to reproduce?
• Protein intake: Are you eating enough to support hormones and egg quality?

If you want to learn everything I did step by step and how I support my 1:1 clients, my Fertile After 40 Masterclass walks you through the exact roadmap.

A question I get often is if a woman should pursue IVF or natural conception. For women 43/44 and beyond, here’s something I’ve consistently observed: Many women in this age group often achieve more success focusing on optimizing for natural conception than immediately pursuing IVF.

Why might this be?

👉 AMH levels drop significantly in our mid-40s, which impacts how the ovaries respond to IVF meds.

👉 AMH level matters a lot for IVF success, but it doesn’t predict success for natural conception.

👉 IVF stimulation aims for multiple eggs, but research suggests the high hormone doses can add stress, potentially impacting the quality of eggs already more fragile due to age.

👉 When 40+, some women find they are more sensitive to the high hormone levels involved in IVF stimulation. This can make side effects more intense and the process more physically taxing.

💡None of this means IVF is wrong! It’s necessary and life-changing for some.

But for many women, especially in their mid-40s and beyond, addressing root causes and making targeted lifestyle changes can dramatically improve fertility, whether you’re trying naturally or preparing for IVF. Every journey is unique and the right path is the one that aligns with your body, health, and goals.

💖 Whether you’re preparing for IVF or trying naturally, support and strategy make all the difference.
