When I was trying to conceive in my mid-40s, I kept hearing the same message:

“You have a 0–1% chance of naturally conceiving.”

But I knew fertility was more complex than that.

So instead of accepting that narrative, I continued supporting what my body needs for healthy eggs, balanced hormones, and implantation.

Not random supplements.
Not generic advice.
Real root-cause work focused on things like nutrient status, stress hormones, toxin exposure, gut health, and metabolic balance.

This work led to:

✨ My first baby at 44
✨ My second baby at 46

Today I teach this same framework inside my Fertile After 40 Masterclass, so women don’t have to guess their way through this journey.

Your body may need deeper support.
But your story is not over.

Had my first baby at 44.

Life didn’t unfold the way I expected.

But it unfolded beautifully.

Your story isn’t over yet✨

✨ About Rebecca ✨
Hi, I’m Rebecca! With over 20 years of experience in holistic health optimization, I’ve dedicated my career to helping women overcome major fertility and hormonal challenges. After being told I had less than a 1% chance of conceiving without donor eggs, I went on to have two healthy, naturally conceived babies at 44 and 46 using evidence-based, holistic strategies. Since then, I’ve guided hundreds of women over 40 to optimize their health, navigate complex fertility hurdles, and bring home healthy babies. My journey—and the success of my clients—proves that with the right approach, motherhood after 40 is absolutely possible.💕

Studies show that regular use of conventional cleaning products may impact health similarly to smoking 10–20 ci******es a day. 😮

Many chemicals in these products are classified as endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, or neurotoxins.

Because we use them so often, we expose ourselves to these chemicals again and again.

The good news? Small swaps can make a big difference for your hormones, fertility, and long-term health.

✨ Safer cleaning swaps

✅ Vinegar
✅ Baking soda
✅ Plastic-free natural fiber cloths

✨ Choose fragrance-free, plant-based formulas
✨ Open windows or use fans when cleaning
✨ Always read ingredient labels
Your home should support your health.

🌿 Protect your hormones. Support your fertility.

Comment “PRODUCTS” and I’ll send you my favorite non-toxic cleaning, beauty, personal care, and home essentials. 💛

Trying to conceive in your 40s? One of the biggest hormonal hurdles is low progesterone, which is critical for conception and early pregnancy.

But here’s the thing: progesterone isn’t just about the second half of your cycle. It’s about how well your follicles develop in the first half. A healthy follicle = strong ovulation = robust progesterone production.

How to Support Progesterone Naturally 🌿

1️⃣ Nourishing Diet: Focus on high-quality PROTEIN & healthy FATS (eggs, avocado, olive oil, grass-fed butter, grass-fed beef, fatty fish) at every meal. Cholesterol is a key building block for hormones! Eat a rainbow of veggies & fruits for vital nutrients (like Vit C, B6, Zinc, Magnesium, Selenium).
2️⃣ Quality Sleep: Aim for 8+ hours. Sleep is crucial for hormone regulation.
3️⃣ Managed Stress: Chronic stress steals resources from progesterone! Find your calm (yoga, meditation, nature walks, laughing, dancing, time with friends). Regulate that nervous system!
4️⃣ Moderate Movement: Moderate and gentle workouts are ideal! Avoid regular high-intensity workouts which can increase stress hormones.
5️⃣ Gut Health: A healthy gut is foundational for hormone balance.

Remember: Sometimes, even with the right lifestyle support, your body might still need an extra boost. Bioidentical progesterone therapy may be necessary if you’re still not reaching optimal progesterone levels after making lifestyle changes.

Did you know you can actually become more fertile as you age? Once we reach our late 30s and beyond, our overall health becomes a much better predictor of fertility than age alone. In my early 30s, I struggled with inflammation and many health issues, but at 49, I’m far more fertile. Why? Because I addressed underlying health concerns and made major lifestyle changes!

Studies show that your health and lifestyle are far better predictors of fertility and egg quality than age alone. What you eat, your exposure to toxics, your beliefs, how you exercise, and the supplements you take all play a huge role in fertility and egg quality. The best part? You have control over these factors.

Stop listening to the negativity and lean into the science that shows what’s possible. Trust in your body’s incredible ability to heal and remain fertile well into your 40s, and sometimes even beyond!

Trying to conceive and want to boost your chances, naturally and strategically? Here are 9 research-backed ways to support your fertility and improve your odds of getting pregnant faster:

1. Nourish with nutrient-dense foods🥩
Grass-fed meats, wild-caught fish, pasture-raised eggs, seasonal organic fruits and veggies, and healthy fats. Your body needs raw materials to build hormones and support egg quality and implantation.

2. Track ovulation accurately 📅
Use tools like Mira and track cervical mucus so you can time in*******se correctly. This step is crucial. (Mira discount code in my bio)

3. Optimize your environment 🌱
Reduce endocrine disruptors (plastics, synthetic fragrances, etc.) and clean up your home and personal care products. Check out my free Product Guide and Home Detox Guide at rebeccarumsey.com

4. Regulate blood sugar 🍠
Balanced blood sugar means balanced hormones. Build meals around protein, fat, and fiber. Don’t skip meals!

5. Reduce workout intensity 🧘‍♀️
Especially if you’re over 40. Too much cardio or HIIT can disrupt ovulation. Walking, strength training, and yoga are your friends.

6. Test, don’t guess 🧪
Work with a holistic health practitioner (like me!) who can run customized lab work and interpret the results through a fertility-focused lens. This helps uncover root causes and create a targeted plan. No more guessing.

7. Improve sleep + stress 😴
Sleep is when your body heals and hormones reset. Prioritize 8–9 hours a night and find ways to manage stress daily (meditation, breathwork, journaling, etc)

8. Mindset is everything 💫
Do whatever it takes to keep your hope alive. Practice affirmations, gratitude, and manifesting daily. Your mindset directly impacts your nervous system and your fertility.

9. Supplement wisely 💊
The right supplements can fill in nutritional gaps, support hormone balance, and boost egg quality.

Cervical mucus gives you real-time feedback on how your hormones are functioning. This is especially important in your 40s, when it can be a bit more challenging to pinpoint your fertile window.

Learning to read its signals isn’t just empowering, it’s the most accurate fertility tool you have (much more accurate than an app).

Here’s the secret code to understanding it:

🏜️ Dry or sticky: Estrogen is low (post-period or post-ovulation).

🧴 Creamy/Lotion-like: Estrogen is starting to rise as your body preps for ovulation.

🌊 Watery: Estrogen is high and rising fast! The fluid is thin and watery. This is a highly fertile sign.

💧 Clear/Stretchy (like egg whites): Indicates peak estrogen and LH surge — your fertile window. This is go time! Ideally, you should have fertile cervical mucus for 2-4 days per cycle.

Tracking this one sign can tell you SO much about your cycle health and pinpoint your fertile window with incredible accuracy. I always encourage my clients to listen to their bodies. They’re far more reliable than any app algorithm.

But knowing your fertile window is just one piece of the puzzle. For successful conception, you also need a healthy, receptive uterine lining for the embryo to implant. I’ve put together a FREE guide on the foundations of uterine health to help you prepare your body for pregnancy.

Trying to conceive at 40+? What’s in your kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom may be working against you without you even realizing it.

🏡 Toxins lurk in everyday items. From cookware to personal care products, cleaning supplies, and even furniture.

These chemicals aren’t harmless.

They’ve been linked to:

❌ Hormone disruption
❌ Lower egg and s***m quality
❌ Increased inflammation
❌ Higher miscarriage risk

After 40, we don’t have the luxury of ignoring what impacts egg quality, implantation, and hormone balance. The margin matters more.

The empowering part? You can dramatically reduce exposure in a matter of days with intentional swaps.

That’s exactly why I created Fertility Home Detox — a room-by-room guide showing you:

✔ What to remove
✔ What to replace it with
✔ What actually matters (and what doesn’t)

No fear. No overwhelm. Just strategic changes that support your body instead of burdening it.

What’s the best age to have a baby?

The best age is the age YOU feel ready. What society, your friends, or family think about your timing is inconsequential.

For me, I couldn’t even think about motherhood before 39. I loved my daily workouts, my self-care routines, spontaneous hikes, lazy brunches, and the freedom to book a last-minute trip whenever I felt like it. I was all-in on my career and all-in on living single life to the fullest. I always planned on becoming a mom someday, but not until it felt right.

When I turned 40, everything shifted. I was ready. I met my husband days after my 40th birthday, and I conceived naturally at 43 and 46.

Becoming a mom was non-negotiable for me. Whether it took natural conception, IVF, adoption, or fostering—I was determined to make it happen.

👉 Let’s break the myth once and for all: there’s no “perfect” age to become a mom. There’s only your timing.

💬 At what age did you feel ready (or do you think you’ll feel ready)?

I’m often asked: how long does it take to get pregnant in your 40s?

It usually takes a little longer than it did in our 20s or 30s, but it’s absolutely possible. One study of women ages 40–45 found that 56% conceived within 12 cycles (PMID: 28917614).

Here’s why it can take more time:
👩🏽 As we age, our eggs age too, and older eggs are more likely to have chromosomal issues, which can make it harder to catch a healthy egg.
👨🏽 A man’s s***m quality also declines with age (often starting around 40–45) with slower-moving s***m and changes in shape, making fertilization harder.

💗 My story is proof there’s hope:
At 43, I spent the time to properly prepare my body and optimize my health. I conceived on the very first try.
At 46, it took 12 cycles. After 10 months, we found out my husband’s s***m motility and morphology were low. We adjusted his supplements, exercise routine, and recovery time and we conceived the very next month. That pregnancy ended in miscarriage, but just two weeks later, we conceived our second baby at age 46.

✨ The stats can feel discouraging, but they don’t tell the whole story. Small, intentional lifestyle shifts can make a powerful difference in improving your chances of having a healthy baby. I’ve seen it time and again with my clients and in my own journey.

If you want to learn the exact steps I took and how I help my clients conceive in their 40s, comment “FERTILE” and I’ll send you the details for my Fertile After 40 Masterclass🌟

There’s a lot of misinformation in the fertility world, and it can lead to unnecessary interventions, missed diagnoses, and lost time.

Here are some common myths to watch out for:

🚩 MYTH 1: IVF is your only option if:

* You’re over 40
* You have an irregular cycle
* Your partner’s s***m is suboptimal
* Your labs are “normal”

REALITY: Not true. There’s so much we can do to support hormone balance and optimize egg and s***m health naturally.

🚩 MYTH 2: You have unexplained infertility.
REALITY: Unexplained means unexplored. Most panels miss key markers like full thyroid testing, immunity markers, gut or vaginal microbiome, or thorough uterine evaluation.

🚩 MYTH 3: Lifestyle and diet don’t matter.
REALITY: They absolutely do — affecting inflammation, hormones, egg and s***m quality, and implantation.

🚩 MYTH 4: The male partner only needs a basic semen analysis.
REALITY: Nearly 50% of fertility struggles involve him, yet his health is often overlooked.

🚩 MYTH 5: You’re in early menopause — end of story.
REALITY: Low AMH, irregular cycles, or early menopause symptoms often have underlying causes that can be addressed.
If any of these sound familiar, don’t lose hope. There’s usually a lot more that can be done and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
