The Czech Health Technology Institute has launched the first Biomedical Engineering Super-Trainer Program for Africa, leveraging Czech expertise 🇨🇿 to train engineers from Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Zambia 🇿🇲.

Through a blend of academic, clinical, and industrial immersion in Prague, participants mastered the lifecycle management of maternal and neonatal care devices. As "super-trainers," these participants are now equipped to disseminate this critical knowledge back home.

From Conference Connection to Humanitarian Impact

Last May, at our GHIczech conference organized by the Czech Health Technology Institute in Prague, the First Lady of the Czech Republic, Eva Pavlová, and the First Lady of Ukraine, Олена Зеленська (Olena Zelenska), met to discuss how to better support Ukrainian civilians and the recovery of essential social infrastructure amidst the ongoing war.

We are proud that we helped to organize a meeting of Tereza Bůžková, CEO of Nadace The Kellner Family Foundation and Nina Horbachova CEO of Olena Zelenska Foundation / Фундація Олени Зеленської with the goal to discuss possible ways the Czech Republic could support Ukraine's humanitarian needs. Today, we are proud to share that this connection has resulted in tangible action.

💙💛 Renáta Kellnerová and her daughters (Anna, Lara, and Marie) have decided to donate CZK 170 million (over EUR 6 million) through Nadace The Kellner Family Foundation to support Ukrainian civilians facing prolonged power, heating, and water outages caused by ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure. This contribution will be directed to the Olena Zelenska Foundation / Фундація Олени Зеленської supporting urgent, on-the-ground assistance where it's needed most.

This initiative builds on the incredible solidarity shown by Czech citizens and reflects our shared commitment to helping those enduring the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Sometimes the most impactful partnerships begin with a simple conversation. Grateful to see the Czech-Ukrainian solidarity continue to grow stronger.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Czech Health Technology Institute and Areem Plus opens the way for the practical implementation of the intergovernmental agreement between the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates in the healthcare sector.

This project creates opportunities for the long-term deployment of Czech innovations and confirms their potential to contribute to improved healthcare across Africa.

Ukraine now has over 1.2 million registered veterans, a number that is expected to continue growing. As such, caring for veterans represents a key task for the Ukrainian healthcare system.

Olena Sinitsyna, an expert in health systems development and Executive Director of UHC Education at the Ukrainian Healthcare Center (Український центр охорони здоров'я - UHC), came to our conference in Prague to elaborate on the challenges Ukraine is confronting in veterans' care.

At this year’s Global Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine, we created our own Lennon Wall – a free space for messages, drawings and hope. 💛🩵

The installation celebrated the 45th anniversary of the original Lennon Wall in Prague – a powerful symbol of peace, freedom and resistance. ✌🏼

We joined the call to spread the message: Let’s create more Lennon Walls in cities around the world -
walls that speak of unity, courage, and the power of community.

Thank you to everyone who left their mark. 🙏🏻

This wall will be installed in Kyiv as a lasting reminder of the mutual partnership and the unwavering support of the Czech Republic for Ukraine. 🇺🇦
