TEMOS India Strategic Roundtable

TEMOS India recently successfully convened a Strategic Roundtable on Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Collaboration in New Delhi, bringing together national leaders from healthcare, policy, and industry bodies to shape a quality-driven and globally aligned roadmap for India’s medical tourism future.

The roundtable opened with strategic perspectives from TEMOS India Advisory Board Members Dr. Girdhar J. Gyani and Dr. R. V. Karanjekar, who emphasized the need for India to move beyond fragmented initiatives toward a cohesive national medical tourism ecosystem rooted in quality, ethics, transparency, and patient safety.

Representing a global perspective, Dr. Claudia Mika, Founder & CEO of TEMOS International, shared insights on evolving international patient expectations and the role of accreditation, cross-border collaboration, and global platforms in strengthening trust and healthcare excellence worldwide.

Dr. Zainab Zaidi, Country Director of TEMOS India, outlined the strategic vision for TEMOS India. She further highlighted that India’s leadership in medical tourism must be driven by quality differentiation, strong ethical frameworks, and global engagement, supported by international forums and regionally aligned capacities that enable a truly global-ready ecosystem.

A key highlight was the formalization of strategic collaborations with leading national institutions, including the Services Export Promotion Council, Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, Association of Healthcare Providers (India), the Institution of Fire Engineers (India), and Yashoda Medcity. Further strengthening regional outreach and implementation, Terms of Reference (ToR) agreements were formally signed and recognized with Regional Partners to support the structured dissemination of TEMOS standards across India.

Strategic Roundtable on Global Accreditation in Medical Tourism Excellence by Temos International and Temos India

On 18 December 2025, Temos International and Temos India will host a Strategic Roundtable on Global Accreditation in Medical Tourism Excellence in New Delhi, India.

The high-level forum will bring together healthcare leaders, policymakers, accreditation experts, and key industry stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on patient safety, global trust, strengthening international recognition, and defining the roadmap for TEMOS India.

Held under the theme “Patient Safety, Global Trust, Indian Excellence: Advancing Medical Tourism through Accreditation,” the roundtable will explore the shift from traditional medical tourism toward a structured medical value travel ecosystem. Discussions will highlight how internationally recognised accreditation strengthens confidence, supports sustainable growth, and positions quality and safety at the centre of global healthcare services.

Meet Our Temos Accreditation Experts

Trust and expertise are crucial for reassuring your clients and customers that they are engaging with true professionals.

Today, we proudly highlight Dr. Tarek Abdelmoez Ismail, a physician and internationally experienced healthcare quality and accreditation professional who has been a Temos Assessor since 2024.

Dr. Ismail holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Pathology from Egypt, as well as a Master of Business Administration in the healthcare sector and a professional diploma in hospital administration. He is a Temos-certified assessor, a member of the Temos Assessor Advisory Board (2024–2025), and a Temos-approved consultant from the first batch, with international expertise across Türkiye, Georgia, and Saudi Arabia. His professional credentials also include certification as an accreditation professional with GAHAR (Egy-CAP), certification in Healthcare Quality Excellence from the American University in Cairo, and a professional diploma in healthcare quality and accreditation from Badr University in Cairo.

In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Ismail brings 30 years of experience in Healthcare management. He currently serves as a Healthcare Management Expert and Laboratory Medicine Consultant within the Technical Council of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, where he contributes his expertise to strengthening healthcare systems and quality frameworks. Through this role and his broader professional work, he is dedicated to supporting healthcare organizations in advancing quality standards, improving patient care, and fostering sustainable performance improvement.

Highlights from the Temos Assessors Training 2025

On November 30 and December 1, 2025, Temos proudly welcomed 30 international assessors to a two-day in-person training designed to strengthen the skills, knowledge, and competencies of Temos assessors at Temos HQ and Cologne. The training combined interactive learning, case-based discussions, simulations, and practical exercises.

On Day 1, participants explored how value-driven hospital assessments create meaningful impact beyond accreditation, worked through real scenarios involving Patient Blood Management and incident reporting, and engaged in simulated assessor meetings to refine communication and teamwork. The program also introduced the updated Temos privileging system, ensuring assessors are aligned with current requirements.

Day two expanded focus to cultural competence and critical incident management, with dedicated sessions on the healthcare landscape of Saudi Arabia. The training concluded with a forward-looking discussion on the ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, reinforcing its growing significance for healthcare providers and regulators worldwide.
