Functional freeze is a hidden state many high-functioning women experience when their nervous system shuts down.

Healing from functional freeze means rebuilding self-trust, supporting your nervous system, and learning simple, balanced strategies that help you move from stuckness into flow. 🌸

🌱 Seed of the Day: How has your mental health changed your identity?

When your mental health shifts, it doesn’t just stay in your head, it ripples into your body, your choices, and the way you see yourself.

Maybe you used to feel confident in your skin but now struggle to recognise the person in the mirror. Maybe exhaustion, weight changes, or numbness have made you feel like a stranger in your own body. Or maybe the way you show up for others has changed, leaving you questioning who you are at your core.

🧠 Mental health has a huge impact on identity because our sense of self is built on the mind–body connection. When the body feels heavy, disconnected, or out of sync, identity can feel fragile too.

But here’s the truth: your identity isn’t lost. It’s evolving. Healing is about slowly rebuilding that connection, so you can feel at home in your body and recognise yourself again.

Some days, life throws you into a storm you never asked for. You can’t fix it. You can’t out-think it.

But you can decide how gently you’ll walk yourself through it.

As mental health becomes more visible on social media, we need to also be vigilant about what we are consuming.

While I agree with walking away from toxic relationships or situations that are damaging your mental health, we need to start defining what toxic actually is.

A lot of what I am seeing at the moment are people telling others to basically stay in a zone of comfort so life is peaceful and easy.

The thing is, life can be peaceful and simple when you have the right tools and coping strategies to deal with what comes your way.

Being in a workplace that you don't particularly enjoy, maybe you're not challenged enough or you are not aligning with their values, doesn't make it a toxic workplace, just something you no longer align with, & this is where the difficult misinformation arises.

This is why I have created "inner Bloom collective" a community full of information, resources, weekly group calls & more! My mission is to support women in finding the right information for their mental wellbeing to build a more resilient & simple life 🩷🌸
