The other day, a client said something that made me stop mid-thought and exclaim: “EXACTLY!‘‘
She said:
“Wait. So, you’re telling me that after a Reiki attunement, I can literally place my hands on someone and healing starts to flow? Like… reliably? On anyone? Even myself??”
Yes.
“And I can send it across time and space?!”
Yes.
“Then WHY ISN’T EVERYONE DOING THIS??”
And honestly… fair question.
So here’s my current theory:
Reiki is like avocado sourdough with poached eggs in 2012 🥑
Totally available.
Weirdly underhyped.
And once you try it, you kind of can’t stop telling everyone else.
So why aren’t more people doing it?
Because…
1. They think healing is supposed to be hard.
If it doesn’t involve pain, suffering, or 3 years of shadow work… can it really be real?
2. They still believe someone else has to do it for them.
Doctors, therapists, experts—yes, all beautiful support.
But Reiki whispers: What if you can have this empowering tool to do much of the groundwork yourself?
3. They haven’t felt it yet.
Because once you feel that gentle buzz in your palms, or the quiet melt of your shoulders softening, or your child calming under your touch—it’s a yes for life.
4. Magic makes people nervous.
We’ve been burned for dabbling in energetics and leading empowered lives in the past. Luckily, now we can parade in publicly on social media. Reiki flows. And shows.
And maybe the world isn’t quite ready for everyone to be that powerful. But you? You’re here. Reading this. Which means you are already aware.
