Main emotion so far > grief
The grief of having been a single mother
The grief of carrying it all
The grief over that unborn child
The grief of my mother, my grandmothers
Ancient inner warzones melting in oil and ghee
Then
That grief of all the mothers
Carrying, raising their children in this unjust world
Then
That grief of all the mothers
Who fear for their children’s lives
Because of hunger, because of war, because of aggression
Underneath that grief
That rage
A thousand years old
Sitting in these bones
Wanting to shatter down, what is abusive, lying, hurting, killing
Then there is peace
While melting through the next heartbreak
Mother
Woman
Human
Spaceholder
Nourisher
In these times
I bow to you
I pray for you
I hold you
In my heart
Grief-Rage-Peace
All here
With you
For you
For the new that is emerging out of this grief, this mess, this pain
I bow
