Sometimes life unfolds very differently than planned

What was meant to be a two week retreat turned into a much longer, unexpected journey.
I had the chance to teach at the beautiful , surrounded by the incredible nature of Sri Lanka , so much life, color, and warmth.
The kindness of the people, the richness of the land, and the connections I made truly touched me

And then everything shifted.
As the USA and Israel attacked Iran, my return flight was cancelled, and suddenly I was faced with staying much longer than intended, unable to return to Berlin and meet my commitments as planned.

It became a profound lesson in surrender!
I’m grateful that, in the end, I was able to lean into it and truly receive and enjoy the time as it was.

From my heart, thank you to to , to the Sri Yoga Shala Team, and to everyone there who made this time so special 🙏
I’m already looking forward to coming back next year.

I also made a short visit to Hiriketiya, where I had the joy of holding a Kirtan together with Connor and teaching a class beautiful new yoga shala .hiriketiya

And at the same time, I’m so happy to be back in Berlin , back to teaching as well as practicing with my teachers 🤍

Armbalancing Workshop at SHA-LA Waterfront

25.04.2026
4-6.30PM

FROM GROUND TO AIR

Kakasana, Bakasana, Astavakrasana & Eka Pada Galavasana

Balance begins with grounding.
In this workshop, we dive into the practice of arm balances, exploring how focus, openness, and stability come together to create both lightness and lift.

Through a thoughtfully sequenced practice, we prepare the body and mind:
We open the hips, engage the core, and build confidence in the delicate balance between strength and release.

We will explore each arm balance:
   •    Kakasana – Crow Pose, a balance that strengthens the shoulders, arms, and core while refining your sense of balance
   •    Bakasana – Crane Pose, challenging coordination, arm strength, and core control.
   •    Astavakrasana – a side arm balance that combines spinal twist, flexibility, and core engagement.
   •    Eka Pada Galavasana – a hip-opening variation that tests balance, flexibility, and core stability

During the workshop, we will work on:
   •    Hip mobility and stability
   •    Core activation to support lift and control
   •    Techniques to release fear and cultivate trust in your balance
   •    Transitions, alignment, and adjustments that make each pose unique

Whether you are just beginning or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers the chance to explore how stability and lightness can coexist, on the mat and beyond.

This will be fun!

MÁLAGA RETREAT

I’m so excited to be teaching another retreat with Yoga Spirit Circle in late summer and this time we’re heading to Spain!

The Heart Connection 🤍

27 August to 2 September 2026
Casa Erica, Málaga, Spain

In a world full of distractions and constant demands, we often lose touch with what truly matters, our heart.

This retreat offers a safe and supportive space to slow down, enter stillness, calm the mind, and rediscover the wisdom of the heart.

True happiness and inner peace grow from living mindfully in the present moment. Together, we will explore how conscious breathing, mindful movement, and deep listening can help us build a more profound connection with ourselves and with others. Through heart centered practice, we open to compassion, joy, and inner peace. We release old burdens and learn to meet the present moment with a loving and gentle gaze.

Each day begins with a grounding meditation that sets the foundation for a deeply connected and conscious practice. We then move into a dynamic and energising Jivamukti class. Every day, one specific asana is explored in a workshop style approach, with attention to alignment, technique, and mindful movement.

In the afternoon, we enter a state of deep relaxation, soothing the nervous system through pranayama, restorative postures, and chanting. On one special afternoon, Sandra will guide a themed workshop, thoughtfully attuned to your energy and experience level, creating a nurturing space for exploration and personal growth.

YOGA WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS AND ALIGNMENT EXPLORERS
Exploring the Foundations of Vinyasa

Step onto your mat and rediscover the beauty of moving with awareness. In this workshop, we’ll slow things down to uncover the foundations of Vinyasa yoga. Through breath, alignment, and mindful transitions, you’ll build a steady, confident, and safe practice that supports you in any class.
This course is ideal for beginners in yoga, seasoned practitioners who would like to review and work on alignment of asanas using props, as well as yoga teachers who would like to observe how to teach yoga at beginner level.

MYSORE RETREAT MEXICO RECAP

Grounded in Tapas
showing up, breathing through the fire

Rooted in Svadhyaya
witnessing, softening, remembering who we are

Held in Ishvara Pranidhana
surrendering, again and again.

This retreat was devotion in motion
Ritual. Community. A safe space to open, to be seen, to let go.

I am deeply grateful for this life, for walking the path as a yoga teacher,
for soul friendships as with Barbara, who invited me to co-create this journey with her.
And for this extraordinary group, where transformation unfolded gently, honestly, together.

Deep gratitude to Coco, whose vision and devotion created this sacred ground, a place strong enough to hold deep transformation, yet soft enough to invite opening, vulnerability, and trust
Thank you for this home, and for allowing us to gather here.

In deep gratitude 🤍

Two Weeks of Practice at Sri Yoga Shala, Sri Lanka
Jivamukti Yoga & Ashtanga Yoga Retreat

From February 22, we gather at Sri Yoga Shala for two consecutive retreat weeks, each rooted in daily practice, shared inquiry, and spacious time for integration.

The retreat opens with an introductory workshop on February 22, offering a common ground:
fundamental principles, inner aspects of the practice and a touch of philosophy, a way to arrive on the same page before the week unfolds.

Each week follows the same rhythm and structure, with a different focus.

Week 1. Jivamukti Yoga

तपः स्वाध्यायेश्वरप्रणिधानानि क्रियायोगः ॥१॥

tapaḥ svādhyāya īśvara-praṇidhānāni kriyā-yogaḥ
“Discipline, self-study, and surrender form the path of practice.”

In the first week of our retreat at Sri Yoga Shala, we will engage in Jivamukti Yoga as a living exploration of balance. The morning 90-minute classes combine asana, pranayama, and meditation, allowing movement, breath, and attention to weave together into a coherent, embodied experience.

We approach balance not as a fixed goal, but as a continuous, evolving process. The Yoga Sūtra above provides a subtle framework for this inquiry:
Tapaḥ – the power of discipline,
Svādhyāya – the willingness to meet oneself honestly,
Īśvara-pranidhāna – the trust to let go.
Together, these qualities create a space in which balance can be felt and cultivated, a delicate interplay between effort and surrender.

In the Jivamukti practice, this dynamic is experienced directly: stability and ease, discipline and devotion come into relationship. We do not practice to achieve perfect forms, but to refine sensitivity to what truly brings us to our center.

The afternoon workshops remain open, allowing themes to emerge according to the needs and interests of the group. Space will be offered for exploration, reflection, and inquiry.

This week becomes an invitation to cultivate balance rather than chase it, to attune with it, moment by moment, breath by breath.

Week 2. Ashtanga Yoga
