Submissions to the 2025 Micrograph Award were outstanding, with a record number of high-quality entries spanning life sciences, plasmonics, metasurfaces, and quantum technologies — so many that 18 honorable mentions were awarded, a first in the competition’s history.

First place was awarded to Daniele Bonaldo (University of Padua, Italy) for “Large Metalens with Asymmetric Base Elements,” demonstrating sophisticated electron-beam writing strategies and asymmetric structures for advanced free-space telecommunications applications. Second place went to Connor Graham-Scott (University of Münster, Germany) for work on superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors, and third place to Matt Rudd (University of Alberta, Canada) for a partially fabricated nitride torque sensor with applications in real-time studies of superconducting vortex dynamics.

The breadth and creativity of submissions reflect the diverse research enabled by RAITH systems. We congratulate all winners, invite you to view the full gallery and to also enter the Micrograph Award 2026 and share your work done with a RAITH system.

Our annual Expert Workshop & Skill Days will return from March 17–19, 2026, bringing together RAITH users from across Europe for three days of technical exchange, discussion, and community building.

The event is designed as a user-focused forum: experienced system users will share their work and results, complemented by in-depth contributions from RAITH experts across applications, service, and technology. As in previous years, the program will span a broad range of topics in nanofabrication, characterization, and advanced workflows.

In addition to the technical sessions, evening events will provide space for informal discussion and networking within the RAITH user community.

The first agenda details will be released soon. Registration is now open — we look forward to welcoming you in Dortmund: https://ow.ly/mOqk50XZA4F

Join us at the RAITH Asia Pacific User Meeting in Sydney on February 6, 2026.

This one-day, in-person technical exchange brings together RAITH system users, nanofabrication, characterization, and metrology experts for deep-dive discussions, product updates, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.

The event offers:
• Technical sessions on current and future RAITH capabilities and applications
• Contributions from experienced users on real-world challenges and best practices
• Open dialogue with RAITH product managers, application specialists, and subject-matter experts
• Opportunities to connect with fellow professionals in the nanotechnology community

This User Meeting is intended as a collaborative technical forum rather than a sales event — an opportunity to learn from each other, share insights, and help shape future product direction.

As the year comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to thank our customers, partners, and collaborators for their continued trust and engagement.

2025 has been a year of important milestones for RAITH, including the launch of our AI-powered inspection and metrology system VECTOR, our largest Expert Workshop & Skill Days to date, the introduction of the holography platform ATHOS, and the opening of our new Experience Center in Shanghai, to only name a few.

These achievements would not have been possible without the close exchange with our community we work with every day.

We hope the end of the year offers time to reflect, recharge, and look ahead. We look forward to continuing this journey together in 2026.

17/12/2025

We have officially opened our new Experience Center in Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone.

This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant expansion of our presence in the Asia-Pacific region and serves as a regional hub for application demonstrations, technical training, and onsite system evaluations. Equipped with our latest electron beam and laser lithography tools, as well as advanced metrology systems, the center enables comprehensive technology demonstrations tailored to research and industry needs.

The Shanghai Experience Center will strengthen customer engagement, shorten response times for support, and foster closer collaboration with partners across high-tech sectors in Asia.
