SO SAD 😭 IN KENYA
Many a time ladies reached out to me on various medical consultancy , moments I mention I will need sonographer report ( ultrasound) report I feel how heart broken they feel .
It has come to my realization in Kenya taking an image it’s damn expensive , am still in shock why should anybody charge for an X-ray facility Kwani price ya film 🎞 paper how much ? Its nearly 2bob why charge surely?
Imaging should never ever exceed ksh 1000 surely , Kwani are you being punished to locate your exact ailment? Aren’t you going to be charged treatment? Do you know in India all this scans are almost free !! Actually X-ray is free zero pay .
My second question 🙋♀️ is why should C-section surgical procedures cost anybody past 10k ? Why ? My friend recently told me she paid 375k Private ### hospital for C-section , am still asking myself Hata kaa ni overcharge surely?
Third shock is Fertility treatment in Kenya , why should a mother struggling with fertility treatment be charged a leg 🦵 and foot 🦶 ? Am shocked assisted fertility processes like a) Intrauterine insemination (IUI) b) In vitro fertilisation (IVF) c) Egg and s***m donation cost over ksh 100,000 ? But why surely why ? Sweets kaa you realize ni more than 100k kindly book with hospitals in india get it extremely cheap , they will do it at their best so that you come back next .. it’s not a mother ‘s wish to have fertility issues that treatment is more of a punishment as to why you have the condition .. sad 😢
Let me explain this X-rays
1. Computed Tomography CT / Computerized Axial Tomography CAT ( used to diagnose internal injuries after an accident, locate a tumor, or detect a disease such as cancer etc )
2. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) used to examine the size of a patient’s heart, the effects of a heart attack, or the inflammation of blood vessels, detect tumors or cancer in a patient’s liver, breast, ovaries, kidney, pancreas, and other organs.
3. Vascular Interventional Radiography ( VIR) used to scan blood vessel disease, resolve issues in dilated or blocked veins, guide benign tumor therapies, and remove kidney or gallbladder stones.
4. Sonography / Ultrasound - used to check on fetal growth and development, helps diagnose conditions when a patient has symptoms relating to pain, swelling, or infection also used to examine a patient’s heart, gallbladder, liver, kidneys, brain, spine, and other organs.
5. X-Ray used to determine the type and extent of a fracture and several other functions if you don’t have other imaging scanners it’s just a general scanner.
