🫰🏼10 years of everything 🤌🏼 - related to my very personal yoga journey.

2025 was the year I commited to a 300hrs training to deepen my understanding of yoga as a system, and finetune my yoga teacher personality.

But before?

2024 I became bored of my own teaching.

2023 I hosted my first Mallorca retreat (and I'd love to do it again).

2022 was dedicated to surfing - and although I suck, it's such a spiritual, embodied form of moving!

2021 I taught yoga to friends and foreigners all around the mediterranean sea for a summer.

2020 Corona hit & I've sent out yoga home videos to friends - that was my first start into teaching.

2019 I signed up for my first teacher training because my job didn’t offer me purpose, and I had to go through a very, very complicated break-up.

2018 Going to the studio (I had an actual yoga home base) twice a week.

2017 favorite place at parties: behind the bar. It still is, I just don't party very often anymore.

2016 This is me at a festival in the Netherlands. I do yoga every now and then, but it's not one of my main insterests.

2015 Me in my first full-time job. While I went to my first ever yoga class during my time in Istanbul, living across the street of a studio in Hamburg changed everything.

And 💥 BOOM 💣, just like that, my 300hrs advanced yoga training training comes to an end. It wasn’t the finish I had quite hoped for (way to short, way to sudden, leaving in a hurry and being sick, so missing half of the training).

And yet, those two days were full of everything that made these intensive Berlin-Yoga-Weekends the highlight of my year.

1. Mirror Selfies and a luggage full of "you never know what happens".
2. Extensive coffee breaks with big groups - full of chatter, laughter, good coffee, arrogant baristas, hyped Cafés (some of them worth it, others not so much). And SUN ☀️, lots of it.
3. Learning essentials: good manuals, water, and some power shots inbetween to make it through 10-hours-days
4. Dedicated teachers such as & plus each time, a whole bunch of people eager to learn more
5. Extensive touching, examining, experimenting & experiencing.
6. Delicious lunch breaks that were ALWAYS too short
7. Group tasks where each teacher personality found room to show up
8. More delicious food in the evenings. Thanks for joining me on my last one .josi .sulke .moll & Berit
9. Sorry, more food. Most interesting dessert in a while
10. Blue & yellow streets. When I first came to Berlin maaaaany years ago for an internship, this season was one of the reasons I fell for Berlin
11. Exploring funky asanas and challenge ourselves into new shapes.
12. Coffee. Have I told you I have to reduce caffeine?
13. Where to drink coffee.
14. .music
15. Knowledge on the wall
16. Experiencial knowledge on the wall
17. Just take my money.
18. Turkish eggs. Also, I miss Istanbul.
19.
20. P'Berg.

How these months will shape me as a teacher, I'm still not sure. I just know that I not only learned about asanas, anatomy, brahmanism or how to touch - but also about authenticity, dreams, human insecurities, what's below the surface, boundaries. And I met amazing people, you know who you are 🧡

This OCTOBER feels different. 🍂 While autumn is definitely my second favorite season coming in very strongly behind summer, the fast darkness of the fading days speaks differently to me this year.

And still, in between the challenges are these beautiful moments of softness, melancholy, being held and trust.

Whenever there's a time of hardship, scarcity or the big questions of life creeping around the corner, reminding yourself of the abundance that is in my life, is one of the most effective tools for me.

1. Classic elevator Selfie
2. Teaching at Being Space Wednesdays has become a new weekly favorite
3. Hello darkness
4. This dance battle has reminded me of how urgently we need community spaces free from Capital.
5. Well, what can I say. It's like that.
6. My favorite OF
7. Turkish Food will always have a favorite place in my heart & belly
8. All bread & "Blätterteig"
9. Can we please make resting together a thing?
10. Even P**i knew.
11. Eating at the bar = favorite spot.
12. Me, inside.
13. Me, outside.
14. Autumn colours in the rain.
15. Discovered a new beautiful Studio.
16. Sick pumpkin

🧘🏻‍♀️ Being a yoga teacher means: working on weekends, working weird hours - and loooots of to dos that don't necessarily mean studying old texts or being with students. ✨️

And no, I am not relaxed all the time 🤪

👋🏼 Have you met the rested version of yourself?

Is (s)he welcoming, relaxed, positive, open to new people and situations?

Does (s)he feel connected, aware and supported?

Restorative yoga and alle the practices summed up under this umbrella are beautiful, effective practices to meet yourself on a deeper level and help the body to come out of fight or flight mode.

Have you tried? Describe your rested self in the comments, I'm curious to hear! ⬇️

Have you met your rested self? 🧡

Is (s)he supported, soft, relaxed, happy or sad? Does (s)he know the pleasure of a FULL BODY EXHALE? And how to find it, feel it?

This Training on Restorative Yoga with was an intensive exploration on how to properly rest our bodyminds in this craziness of life, together, through self exploration and under circumstances that are not always ideal.

Because let's be honest - when do we ever have ideal conditions for resting? When there is always something to be done...

We looked at
- theories about the nervous system and how we can work with them even if there is no final scientific proof
- the endless variety that yoga props bring into this practice, or how to get maximum effect when we don't have lots of them
- sequencing a restorative class for different students and times
- and we experienced a lot!

This was a big inspiration for my upcoming retreat in december, can't wait to share these practices with all of you soon!

Also, so much fun sharing this intimate time with all of you! .josi .with.kiri .abbottttttt and everyone else i don't have on Insta.

The Yoga Space is a vulnerable space. There have been many cases of abuse, big and (later on) pretty obvious ones, some of them even making it into the Netflix library.

But there are also these little, not so obvious moments. They speak of hierarchy, misinformation, uncritical thinking or lack of consent.

Rule No. 1 of the Fight Club says: You are responsible for yourself! Never give that power away.

➡️ Have you ever encountered one of the above mentioned situations?

⛔ Did you ever feel like your teacher crossed a line but were unable to express that feeling?

❌ What would you add to the list above?

Allow me to re-introduce myself...

My name is Corinna, but basically everyone calls me Coco.

🌆 I've been living in big cities for almost 20 years now and loved it. Still love it, BUT nature calls me more and more. And with the current economic developments I feel like it might just not be worth it anymore?! Figuring out how to have both, actually.

♓️♋️♌️ Yes, astrology is part of my life. I'm coming to the growing awareness that it has been ridiculed through colonialism and it's about time to change that.

🧘🏻‍♀️ I'm teaching yoga for quite a while now and I'm relentlessly broadening my understanding of the human body and mind. Next to modern yoga, I am diving into Somatic Movement & Zenthai Shiatsu atm.

🌊 I love the forest, but I'm really really happiest close to the ocean and in the south. So Greece & Portugal are my go-to-places.

🏄🏽‍♀️ Also, I surf, it makes me feel incredibly happy, embodied, connected & awake. I'm veeeeery slow in progress though.

❤️‍🩹 Talking about connection... can we please give community and a sense of belonging (apart from classical family structures) a way bigger focus in our lives?
