The story of Edinatha
It’s worth it!
We first met Edinatha in 2023. Despite the difficult conditions in the surgical environment that our team faces during the two-week mission, we decided to operate, even though postoperative care was inadequate.
She returned in 2024, and the initial result encouraged us to proceed with a second operation.
Last year we missed her, but now she came back—unfortunately only in the final days before our departure, so we were unable to perform the third operation. The plan was to separate the fingers 4 and 5. We are grateful and extremely satisfied with the postoperative outcome, knowing that this is by no means something that can be taken for granted.
Es lohnt sich!
Zum ersten Mal trafen wir Edinatha im Jahr 2023. Trotz der schwierigen Bedingungen im operativen Umfeld, mit denen unser Team während des zweiwöchigen Einsatzes jedes Mal konfrontiert ist, entschieden wir uns zu operieren, obwohl die postoperative Versorgung unzureichend ist.
Sie kam 2024 zurück, und das erste Ergebnis ermutigte uns, mit einer zweiten Operation fortzufahren.
Letztes Jahr haben wir sie vermisst, doch nun kam sie zurück – leider erst in den letzten Tagen vor unserer Abreise, sodass wir die dritte Operation nicht mehr durchführen konnten. Der Plan ist eine Trennug der Finer 4 und 5. Wir sind dankbar und mit dem postoperativen Ergebnis äußerst zufrieden, im Wissen, dass dies keineswegs selbstverständlich ist.
