Every journey with epilepsy is unique. 👣

Tim’s story is just one example of how patients can gain strength, insight, and hope by exploring treatment options together with their physicians:

For Tim, epilepsy has been part of life since he was two years old. For many years, everyday moments were shaped by uncertainty: never knowing when the next seizure might occur and navigating the ongoing physical and emotional strain that came with it. 😶‍🌫️

Despite trying numerous treatment options over the years, the impact on his daily life remained significant. But Tim kept going – with persistence, curiosity, and an incredible amount of resilience.

At age 32, he explored a new therapeutic pathway and received the EASEE® neurostimulation system. Since then, he has experienced noticeable changes that have supported a better quality of life: fewer limitations, more independence, and a renewed sense of confidence in planning his days. ✨

And now? Tim is traveling again, reconnecting with the world, and raising awareness for epilepsy to support others on their own path.

His message: “Go your way – with pauses, pride, and courage.” 💜

Purple Day reminds us why we do what we do. 💜

Behind every innovation, every idea, every step forward are people – with childhood dreams, personal stories, and the wish to make life easier for those living with epilepsy.

By sharing our childhood photos today, we’re opening a small window into what drives us.

Our mission: to support patients and empower them throughout their therapy journey, together with the clinicians who guide them.

Grateful for this team and our community. 🫶🏼✨

Finding the right treatment for epilepsy can feel overwhelming – and no two journeys look the same. 💜

For many people, anti seizure medications are an important foundation. Yet for about one in three individuals with focal epilepsy, medications don’t provide sufficient seizure control, or the side effects impact quality of life.

Studies indicate that these patients often wait many years before being offered alternative medical options – sometimes up to twenty years.

And that’s exactly where we want to help shorten the path: by making information more accessible and creating awareness for established neurostimulation treatment alternatives such as EASEE®.

Our goal is simple: empower patients and families with clear, reliable knowledge so they can have informed conversations with their medical team and explore together whether additional options might be suitable. 💡🧠

If you want to learn more about this CE certified treatment approach, feel free to visit our website and discuss with your doctor whether it could be relevant in your situation.

❓You have questions, we have the answers!❗️

Today’s question from our community is about the MRI compatibility of the EASEE®-System. 🧠

👉 For an MRI examination of patients with the EASEE®-System, certain conditions must be met. These conditions and all further information can be found in the current MRI guidelines. The link is in our bio!

💡 EASEE® – the first minimally invasive brain pacemaker – offers new hope for people with drug-resistant focal epilepsy when medications are no longer sufficient or cause too many side effects. Please speak with your doctors about your individual therapy options.

There are moments in life when everything feels small and hope seems far away. Many people living with epilepsy know this feeling. 🫣

Ibrahim’s story began when seizures started shaping his life at age eleven. As a teenager, he often stayed inside, avoided friends, and struggled with sadness. Medications did not bring the relief he needed. 😶‍🌫️

At 18, after many conversations with his doctor and family, he chose to join the EASEE® II clinical study. It was a step guided by trust and hope. ✨

Slowly, things changed. By the end of 2020, Ibrahim became seizure free. He began reclaiming everyday life. He spent time with friends, got his driver’s license, and started planning his future with confidence. 🫶🏻

His journey is not a promise. It is one person’s experience. It shows how informed decisions, medical guidance, and support can open new possibilities and remind people with epilepsy that they are not alone. 💜

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

For many women, family planning is an important part of life. So in light of today, we’re opening a conversation about a topic many women ask when considering EASEE®: What does this mean for pregnancy? 🤰

Current research suggests that neurostimulation approaches target only a small, localized area of the brain. Based on the data available, there is no evidence that these mild impulses reach or affect the unborn baby.

What’s the case for EASEE®? 🤔

If EASEE® is already implanted, becoming pregnant can be possible.
However, EASEE® is not implanted during an existing pregnancy.

Our goal: to empower women with clear, reliable information so you can make informed decisions together with your medical team. ✨

👉 Have questions about EASEE® and pregnancy? Send us a message or put them in the comments!

Did you know that there are many different faces of epilepsy? 🤔

The first and basic distinction is between focal and generalized epilepsy. The difference between those two is in the part of the brain where the seizures begin: Focal epilepsy starts in one specific area of the brain whereas generalised epilepsy can affect the whole brain. 🧠

Each type has its own challenges and effects on the lives of those affected. What are your personal experiences? Feel free to share them here in the comments or send us a DM 👇

Today is International Women with Epilepsy Day 🚺💜

A day on which we want to talk about how many women experience epilepsy differently than men – mainly due to hormonal changes throughout their lives. Although many people talk about the so-called gender health gap that is evident here, hardly anyone talks about what this means specifically for women with epilepsy. ⚡️

Epileptic seizure patterns can change over the course of a lifetime. Hormones play an important role in this. This particularly affects:

🌸 Ovulation and menstruation: hormonal fluctuations can increase or decrease seizures.
⏳Perimenopause – fluctuating hormone levels can lead to more seizures.
🌙 The years after menopause. Falling oestrogen and progesterone levels can trigger seizures in some women, while calming them in others.

A well-known example is catamenial epilepsy, where seizures are closely related to the menstrual cycle. Fluctuations in oestrogen and progesterone can influence seizure susceptibility, both positively and negatively.

What can epilepsy patients do?
🤍 Monitor your cycle and seizures
🤍 Take changes seriously
🤍 Discuss individual treatment options with your neurologist

Women with epilepsy deserve care that takes gender-specific differences seriously – from puberty to post-menopause.

❓You have questions, we have the answers❗️

Today’s question from the community is about the precise fixation of the EASEE® Lead.🧠

The EASEE® System consists of three components: the EASEE® Access for control as well as the two minimally invasive units implanted at different parts of the body, EASEE® Power and EASEE® Lead. EASEE® Power, the pulse generator, produces two coordinated types of stimulation and transmits them specifically to the EASEE® Lead.🩺

💡 – the first minimally invasive brain pacemaker – offers new perspectives for people living with pharmacoresistant focal epilepsy when medication is no longer sufficient or causes significant burden. Please consult your physicians about your individual therapy options.

🤔 How can you find out whether EASEE® might be an option for you and what happens if it is?

Here’s an example of how the process can look, from the first thought to follow‑up care after implantation:

🩺 Assessment: Your doctor reviews your type of epilepsy and your medical history. Together, you decide whether EASEE® may be suitable.
🏥 Implantation: The EASEE® system is placed through two small incisions on the head and chest. The components lie under the skin and are connected by a thin cable.
🚀 Activation: After about four weeks, the system is switched on and individually adjusted.
👩‍⚕️ Follow‑up care: Regular check‑ups help to optimize the settings. In previous experiences, effects have appeared gradually, often after several months.

🗣 Please talk to your doctors about your individual treatment options.

Epilepsy is a condition in which the brain or individual areas of the brain are overly active and send too many signals. This triggers what are known as epileptic seizures.*🧠

Epilepsy can affect anyone – at any age, gender or background. And every person’s experience is unique. 💜

For those who cannot be adequately supported by common therapy approaches, everyday life can feel especially challenging. By talking openly about epilepsy, treatment options – like EASEE® – and the lived experiences of people with epilepsy, we aim to reduce fear, address misunderstandings, and help create a life with more understanding and less stigma. 🙌

If you have questions about this topic, leave a comment or send us a DM.💬
