Publication feature: A recent study by Fahnoe and colleagues report on a novel bifunctional fusion protein designed as a tissue-targeted anti-complement therapy. The fusion protein consists of an anti-C3d monoclonal antibody linked to a negative regulator protein for binding to C3/C5 convertases, which have shown effective localized complement inactivation in vitro and in vivo.
