ARMY COMBAT MEDICS PROVE THEIR READINESS!

A combat medic completes the Combat Water Survival Test during the 2025 Europe Best Medic Competition Dec. 9. The rigorous 4-day competition pushed the competitors to their limits, testing their physical and mental stamina as well as their tactical medical expertise and Soldiers’ skills. The rigorous competition forced the competitors to demonstrate their expertise and skill in a variety of tasks to include combat water survival swim training, the expert physical fitness assessment, a foot march, weapons qualification and stress shoots with the M4A1 carbine, tactical combat casualty care, prolonged casualty care, a written test, aid station operations and day and night land navigation. The winners of this competition will go on to represent their organizations in the U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Jack L. Clark, Jr. Best Medic Competition that will be held at Fort Sam Houston, Texas in February 2026.

COMBAT MEDIC ENHANCES READINESS AND PROMOTES ALLIED PARTNER INTEROPERABILITY!

VILSECK, Germany - U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria has recognized Cpl. Vivian Pinon, a 68W Combat Medic, as its Theater Medical Hero for the period of Nov. 19 to Dec. 16. Cpl. Pinon was selected to attend leadership training at the Bundeswehr Noncommissioned Officer Academy due to her exceptional Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) score, placing her in the top 8% of her class of 123 Soldiers.

Additionally, Pinon participated in further leadership training with the Bundeswehr in Delitzsch, Germany, from Nov. 23 to 27. During this training, she had the opportunity to compete for the German Schützenschnur marksmanship badge, earning the gold badge.

Cpl. Pinon’s achievements enhance readiness by showcasing individual excellence and improving multinational interoperability. Her ability to integrate and excel alongside Bundeswehr partners demonstrates that U.S. Soldiers can effectively operate in a joint environment. Furthermore, her success serves as an example for her peers, ultimately strengthening the adaptability and lethality of the force and boosting morale across the formation.

Our Story

Regional Health Command Europe is the only Regional Health Command in the Army that is fully forward stationed - responsible for all Army medical treatment facilities, dental clinics, veterinary clinics and public health services within the European Command.

RHCE is made up of four subordinate commands: Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Medical Department Activity Bavaria, Dental Health Command Europe and Public Health Command Europe. Together they enable RHCE to provide a trained, ready and capable health force at Army medical and dental treatment facilities in Germany, Italy and Belgium, while providing the full spectrum of Public Health and Veterinary services at military installations throughout Europe.

RHCE offers world-class health care to Department of Defense beneficiaries and their Families serving in EUCOM, AFRICOM, U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command Areas of Responsibility.
