Inspiration from my Chinese Grandfather
Like many others, I loved the power boost that came from working in fast-paced and high-pressure environments. The art of being constantly busy has been so romanticized by society today such that a lot of young people may experience feelings of guilt if they decide to take out time to relax and recuperate from the everyday stress and anxiety.
However, our bodies were not designed to be put under such stress and as tempting as it can be to push further even when you are depleted and stressed out, we ought to listen to our bodies and just give it the rest it deserves. This is a fact that I came to realize. To help me relax and dissipate stress, I took up meditation. But trying to sit still and calm a racing mind can be a difficult thing, especially if you're trying to do it completely on your own.
Drawing inspiration from my Chinese grandfather, I decided to incorporate drinking tea into my meditation routine. The traditional tea ceremony combined with meditation did work wonders for me and in a bid to share this effective and exceptional mindfulness practice with others who are also dealing with stress and anxiety, J.R. Stodt was born. Everyone deserves stillness and clarity from moment to moment and we are here to do the best we can to help people get better.
