This visual field test shows a 40% improvement in vision. It belongs to a 47-year-old patient diagnosed with bilateral ischemic optic neuropathy.

The patient reported noticeable improvements in everyday life:

- Depth perception improved — for example, when reaching for the computer mouse.

- Tasks such as typing and searching became easier, and reading ability increased slightly.

Die Geschichte von Savir hängt eng mit der Forschung von Prof. Dr. Bernhard Sabel zusammen, der in über 30-jähriger Forschung neue diagnostische Werkzeuge und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten zur Verbesserung des Restsehvermögens entwickelt und untersucht hat. Es wurden Hunderte von Patienten behandelt und es erfolgten über 200 Veröffentlichungen. Wie auch von anderen Wissenschaftler bestätigt zeigen die Ergebnisse Erstaunliches: Das Gehirn kann sich, dank seiner enormen Veränderlichkeit – der „neuronalen Plastizität“ – an Sehverluste anpassen. Professor Sabel´s Forschung in Deutschland, den USA, Italien und China hat zu neuen Therapien geführt, mit denen die Sehfunktionen auch dann noch verbessert werden können, wenn die Spontanerholung schon lange abgeschlossen ist.
