Wir nehmen Abschied von Gerhard Meinl.
Sein Motto „Closer to the musicians“ war für ihn keine Floskel, er hat es jeden Tag gelebt. Gerhard Meinl hat die Instrumentenbaubranche geprägt wie kaum ein anderer. Sein Unternehmergeist und sein tiefes Verständnis für die Bedürfnisse der Musiker haben unsere Firmengruppe maßgeblich zu dem gemacht, was sie heute ist. Er führte die Tradition seiner Familie mit Leidenschaft fort und hat sie mit Weitblick in die Zukunft geführt. Sein Antrieb war immer Instrumente auf höchstem Niveau für Menschen weltweit zugänglich zu machen. Wir werden seine Vision in seinem Sinne weiterführen.


We say goodbye to Gerhard Meinl. His motto "Closer to the musicians" was something he lived every day. Gerhard Meinl shaped the instrument making industry like no other. His entrepreneurial spirit and deep understanding of musicians' needs played a key role in making our group what it is today. He continued his family tradition with passion and led it into the future with great foresight. His goal was to make high-end instruments accessible to musicians all over the world. We will carry on his vision.

Please join us in welcoming our newest B&S artist, Sasha Johnson! Sasha plays a 3098 PT6 Tuba 🥳🎶

"As an orchestral tuba player, my sound is my voice, my musical identity. B&S tubas help me find that voice."

Sasha is tuba faculty at the Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School of Music, and instructor of tuba, low brass and chamber music at McGill University and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In January 2009, he was appointed principal tuba of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, where he continues today. Sasha was acting principal tuba of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for their 2009/2010, has performed regularly with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, with whom he toured to Europe, Japan and Carnegie Hall, and was acting principal of the Canadian Opera Company for their 2019/20 season. As a chamber musician, Sasha is a member and co-manager of the True North Brass, presenting brass quintet performances and masterclasses across Canada. In 2015 Sasha founded the Canadian National Brass Project, a 24-piece symphonic brass ensemble comprised of principal players from fifteen symphony orchestras.
