🌍At the Eurasian Symposium on Cutting-Edge Innovations in Endoscopic Techniques 2025, WEO was invited to share insights during the talks on Global Perspectives on Endoscopy.

In our exclusive interviews:

👨‍⚕️ Prof Lars Aabakken, WEO President, highlights how “the gradual but rapid increase in quality of imaging has been phenomenal… it allows us to see things we didn’t even know were seeable before.”

👨‍⚕️ Prof Dong-Wan Seo, Chair of WEO Pancreato-biliary Ad hoc Committee, reflects on global disparities: while some regions have advanced technologies and well-organized societies, others — like parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America — lack resources, equipment, experts, and structured educational programs. “WEO needs to focus on this area and make a well-designed educational program… then they will become the leaders in the future of this area,” he says.

🎥 Both talks include some Chinese, but our speakers speak in English. Watch the full insights in the videos below and see their vision for the future of endoscopy!
