🌟 This weekend we officially opened the first WEO Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Training Academy in China at World Endoscopy Organization, hosted at Shanghai Changhai Hospital.
It was a truly special moment for the endoscopy community, bringing together experts and trainers to support hands-on EUS education for the next generation.
As shared by WEO President Lars Aabakken at the opening, this is of course about training, but more importantly, it’s about impact:
“Through these collective efforts, we aim to expand access to advanced endoscopic ultrasound techniques for patients worldwide.”
The WEO EUS Training Academy will be led by Professor D**g Wan Seo, Chair of the WEO Pancreatobiliary Committee and founder of the WEO International School of EUS (WISE), and Professor Jin Zhen D**g, President of the Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopy (CSDE) and Head of Unit at Shanghai Changhai Hospital.
We’re starting this first course with local trainees, and we’re also working on plans for international applicants. It will take a little time to set up, so stay tuned for updates in 2026 🌍
